Hi there sorry for being late reporting in. I managed 20 mins on the crosstrainer but had to stop as I had chest pains and my pulse went up to 177bpm . Hoping the reading was wrong! I don't know what is up with me recently, I'm used to running 5k no prob.

    Well done everyone :T .

So far so good :) You won't run out of steam cause we won't let you, i have oxygen on standby. The HHE are helping me, because if i'm not told to do something i would sit here all day.

Well done Tagz and Annie. Please be careful Tagz, if you can only do 10 minutes its fine. BTW, is the cross trainer good, as i said in my first post i was going to buy one but changed my mind.

Hi NMM. My crosstrainer is brilliant! Up until a couple of weeks ago I'd do 30-45 mins plugged in (MP3 of course) nearly every night. Pure joy! I've got arthritis so I shouldn't do any high impact exercise (hence I only run once a week!) but as the crosstrainer is virtually impact free I'm fine!

Due to a complete lack of motivation and false expectations of my keeness to do DIY I haven't done any exercise today. Will definitely remeday this tomorrow. It will get easier from next week as I will have no tv and access to a free gym during the week.

The cross trainer is a fabulous piece of kit. Low impact as Tagz says, and very efficient at getting your heart rate up and those calories burnt! :D If I could only keep one of my machines, it would probably be that one :)

Thank you for the congrats about my run btw - and well done to everyone else who's done some extra activity today! :T

Thanks for a great link. My route measured 1.9miles, 3.0km, so not too bad for pedometer 10% over estimate - I shall do that again. Apparently used 158 calories - every little helps :D

    FFM :)

I used a pedometer to estimate 5km when I first started running, and I got incredibly frustrated with the times I was achieving which were nearly as slow as some people's WALKING times for 5km. It turned out I was doing 7.1km :rotfl:
  • Tagz, please be careful, I'd hate for our fun to have a negative impact on anyone. When I was an 'attending' member of a gym my favourite piece of equipment was the cross trainer. You could see the calories clocking up for what seemed like minimal effort. I would only 'fast walk' on the treadmill, I had visions of falling over if I ran, plus I couldn't run in a straight line (on the occasions when I did give it a go). Still don't 'do running' in the big wide world - but don't mind taking the dog for a pull. She's still asleep - must give her a nudge, check she's still 'with us' - sorry bad joke - she is fine really :D

Not looking forward to tomorrow's weigh in, this weeks calories have been high again and I'm feeling 'big'. I have now 'got a grip' but need to wait for the effects of Christmas to wear off.

    FFM :)

Right I'm off for a well earned bath! Won't be able to join you for the 8pm session as at MIL for dinner but will try for around 10am if anyone wants to join me.
DD showed me how to listen to music while I work on Wii fit instead of my trainers voice and the daft music, now I have something more motivating - as if you lot aren't enough!!:D
    Night night;)
