Hi all...
Can i join in please!!!!!
I will give u all a lil background on me... i lost 2 stone last year but due to my dad having a brain tumour, losing a pregnancy and my partner cheating on me I used comfort food as a way to push everything away. by doing that i have now grown to an embarassing 18 stone.... (I am 5 ft 6, and female.) I am sooo angry with myslef. I am very ashamed of all the overeating and my lack of caring when I was doing it. But I am now in a better place for 2009 and really want to make a difference. I need to reduce my weight for my health but also for my own self-esteem. I have a new job, I am trying to get to grips with all my debt and I am ready to face my eating. I was going to start on WeightWatchers but I have been looking at the Cambridge diet. I know it is quite expensive but I know it really could be the kickstart I need.... If anyone has any experience with the Cambridge diet i would really appreciate it.
A few weeks ago my doctor said she would refer me to a local natural clinic who may be able to help, but I sont want to rely on this. I really want to get started and start my own way into the weightloss world. :A
So thankyou for setting this up... and I am right in saying weigh in is every Wednesday with what weight you have lost????????????? I am also going to aim for the 5lb loss a month... that would be over 4 stone in a year, i know I need to lose half my body weight (wow) but if I lost 4 stone in a year It would change my life!
so, hopefully this really is the start of a new me.

Hi izzoh, welcome to the LW thread :santa2: . Stick with us and have some fun whilst losing weight. 5lb a month loss is very doable, I lost my weight at a rate of 1lb to 2lb per week, and it has stayed off - I am being a bit naughty for Christmas but the bunch here will sort me out in the New Year if I don't get back on track.

Hello sheryldoc :santa2: , I think I must be on the 'meet and greet' rota tonight. :rotfl: Maybe they've all gone off to a party and left me at home
Nice to have you here, the 5lb a month challenge might help you to achieve your target. Have you got any plans on which method you might use? Weight watchers, Slimmers World, Rosemary Conley, healthy eating + portion control? etc?
Most methods have been or are being used on here by all the other peeps, so advice is usually readily available.

Hi all,
Please count me in - I've tried allsorts of diets and not worked, lack of discipline, slimming world was most successful but I'm going for a different approach. Just eating a healthy diet, getting into home-cooked healthy meals and so on - and using the gym. I have had my gym membership for 3 months - first 2 months - I was good, kept it up - haven't been for the last month, so come 1st Jan I'll be in there early in the morning.
I'm about 6ft4, and weigh around 22st at the moment - my bmi is currently 37.3 and i know this is unhealthy. It doesn't help when people keep telling me I don't look that heavy, I don't need to lose weight - I do, and I'm beginning to notice changes in my health as well as my appearances. I'm beginning to get a sore chest occasionally, find it harder to bend down, out of breath, clothes not fitting(!), veins beginning to show signs of becoming varicose. I simply have to change my ways and I 'm hoping people on here can help with the determination bit. Need to get down to about 14 and a half stone to get down to a healthy bmi, so that's the long-term plan. Back to under 20 is the short term goal though! Hope everyone had a great xmas, and look forward to losing weight with all on here:-) Best of luck to all of you,
