I'd like to jump in too, I joined the loose 7lb for Xmas thread.
Bit of background - I'm 21, never been "slim" after having my daughter, got PND, stopped caring about myself, managed to eat my way to 16st 11lbs!! I wouldn't leave the house as I was so ashamed!
I did the cambridge diet for about a month, found it too difficult, did loose a stone on it though, when I stopped it pretty much all went back on (and I wasn't even porking out!)
Since the end of September I've been dieting, just healthy eating, trying to increase my activity levels, I can't do too much at the minute as I have a benign tumour next to my spine which hurts SO much, even things like loading the washing machine starts it twinging. I got the referral to have it removed, so within the next 2months it should be out (hooray!)
So currently I weigh 13st 5/6lbs (the scales are undecided) so I know it can be done, just from not munching a tube of pringles at 2am!
So I'm pretty chuffed to have lost 3stones!
I noticed the weight loss has slowed down (which is expected)
To have a BMI of 24.9 I need to weigh 10st 7lbs - I don't think I've weighed that since I was about 12! So almost another 3stone still too loose, but I'm not too bothered about BMI, I'd rather go by clothes size. I'd be pretty estatic to be a size 14, I'm an apple shape so seem to always be a size bigger on the bottom.
So my target for 09, FIT INTO SIZE 14 TROUSERS!
Sorry for all that waffle, and hope everyone had a nice Christmas, and a New year to come!0 -
Well done FFM as our official new person greeter - lol
And welcome to our new people, Mambury, Izzoh, Sheryldoc, Leverton 86, and Buttonmoons. They're a great supportive lot here so you have come to the right place!
Had a great Christmas day, and because of the dog had a really long walk and a shorter one after lunch - 2 more walks than last Christmas day lol!
ALso gave myself a Champagne headache just before lunch so that put me off drinking much after that - good job as we compensated with food calories! All lovely so it was worth it.
Like the ad that says it is 'detoxing' day today rather than boxing day!
Izzoh - you have gone through such a lot this year - time to do something for you. I don't know anything about the Cambridge diet personally, but like Lighter Life, my impression is that it works in the short term but people do seem to regain the weight, and more, sadly. I like the sound of the natural clinic - that's the path I am taking (very slowly), and discovering a lot about myself along the way. I am also an advocate of exercise being the key, and Missy will be along soon to re-inforce that!!! ;o) If you are rolling your eyes about exercise - believe me I would have been 18 months ago - all I can say is I am a serious convert, had all the excuses before, but now see them for the stumbling blocks they were.......
Buttonmoons - size 14 trousers here you come!
Here's to a great post Christmas healthy eating extravaganza!
Lesley xNO EXCUSES - THIS YEAR IT'S PERSONAL..........0 -
Morning all!
How's everyone doing the morning after the big day?
I was lucky enough to be able to go for a morning jog yesterday, 2.5 hours. So that created about 1000 'free' calories to use later on! Not that I was calorie counting yesterday!
I had normal brekkie, Christmas meal (& seconds!), a pudding, and then only sweets, choccie and crisps for the rest of the day :rotfl: I actually wish I had been more sensible - my stomach did not feel too good after all that junk. A light eating day planned today, plus a long walk with my son later, if I can tear him away from his presents!
Victory, glad the wii went down well in your house! My son has taken over the lounge with his lego & other stuff! I'm going to be loungeless for a couple of days I think
FFM lucky you were around to man the reception desk last night!
Hello new peeps! Mambury, Izzoh, Sheryldoc, Leverton & Buttonmoons!!! You've beat the new year rush, well done! Hope you enjoy the thread and please keep posting so we can get to know you all - good luck with your weight losses.
Lesley you're quite right, I'd certainly recommend getting some extra activity. It doesn't have to be at the gym and it doesn't even have to be "formal" exercise, just anything that gets you moving! Most of all try to find things you enjoy doing, exercise shouldn't be a chore. Good luck0 -
Hmmm....well think I'm definitely gonna wait till January properly starts before getting into the health mode - too many chocs lying around and party food in the freezer - so it'll get serious from then, as will my attending the gym.
Not too bad a day yesterday, lots of food and a little drink, but my partner got food poisoning from her dad's lobster so she's been ill and in turn I haven't been able to have as much fun as I wanted - still the main thing is she's starting to look and feel a bit better after some rest. Supposed to be going for a boxing day meal today too but as my girlfriend is ill that's not happening either - I guess that helps with saving money, and possibly some weight gain!
Hope everyone is doing OK,

Hello again Casper! I recognise your avatar from before even though I don't know who it is
Good to hear you've been doing so well!
Hi Missy
Was left gasping after your comment about not knowing who my avatar is!
Wow thought the whole world knew who John Barrowman was lol, only joking.
It's good to be back and looking forward to losing 42 lbs in 2009, working out to about 1.2 lbs a week, quite achievable I think.
Hope everyone had a fantastic, fantastic, fantastic xmas lol. (Another JB Quote lol)
Cheers
Casper

So is there a specific weigh in day, or does everyone just post their results on whatever they are used too? I'm quite bad for weighing myself everyday, so I'm gonna try and wait until next Wednesday before I hop back on them.0

Hello and welcome Buttonmoons, there is not an official weigh in day, just post your weight in large bright letters and whoever is updating the chart will spot it during the week and publish the chart on Wednesday evening.
I weigh in Sat am and post my results Sat or Sun.
Good luck getting down to the size 14 trousers, sounds like it is time to start putting yourself first for a while and taking pride in yourself.
There's nothing better than that feeling of chosing any clothes you want in a shop and knowing you look good in them. Keep that feeling in mind each time you reach for something not included in your daily food plan. Think to yourself "Do I really need that or do I want to lose weight and look good?".

My guess was that it was JB, but I've seen other photos that look more like him, IYKWIM. Handsome chap.

Good luck on the RC plan Dragon :j , I love the RC way of losing weight. I followed it after the birth of both my little monkeys and it worked well. It was me that let it all go to pot afterwards. RC got me back on track again this time - keep posting your progress so that I can enthuse some more
