Polkadot that sounds like a great idea. I have a huge staircase in my front room so i could do steps on it instead of the dvd or something like that. Anything thats gets me off my comfy sofa, but its such a nice sofa :o No matter what happens i am going to report back here, i told OH my weight and he said bl**dy hell you're as heavy as me, lol. Hmm, exercise here i come :T

I think more people will be here soon, what with new years resolutions, over indulging at xmas, etc.

  • Welcome to all the new peeps and good luck with your WL journey.

I haven't made any New Year's Revolutions (nice one Lesley :D ) as such but intend to try to do the following:
    1. Get to bed before midnight (before 1am would also count as a success  )
    2. Not binge on chocs (currently a newly banned substance due to my recent misdemeanours :o )
    3. Exercise more (just getting off my settee would count  )
So far today I have been out on my son's bike (about 20 minutes) - I wanted to see how good it is on roads, it is a mountain bike, the gearing is still a little low for road cycling but is better than his last bike. Not sure I will be able to persuade him to come with me on my planned cycling adventures - may still have to go it alone.

I also took the dog for a manic 'walk' round the block (takes about 25 minutes - big block) - she's fast asleep now, so that worked. :j

I have not had any chocolate today and I ate the final mince pie last night. I need to go easy today and tomorrow in readiness for Saturday's WI, I have already had 15k cals in 5 days (yesterday nearly clocked up 4k with chinese for lunch and indian for dinner + plus chocs at work :o ). If I get a gain it will be my own fault and well deserved - but I am now firmly back on the wagon.

All I need to do now is get to bed before midnight and I will have achieved 1 day out of 365.

I also finally gave in and have bought a Wii Fit, just waiting for it to be delivered (hoping for tomorrow - but probably unlikely - it is en route according to game.com) - will have to wait and see how long the novelty lasts.

Looking forward to hearing other peoples resolutions.

Although I must say Ive noticed the thread is fairly quiet during the day. I think I remember someone saying a few days ago that the numbers have waned a bit? So are we expecting more company or is this thread mostly active during the evening?

Hi PD, I think the quietness is probably because people are off visiting as it is Christmas and New Year. I work full time so am only on evenings and weekends, others are on during the day more than evenings. Some peeps vary alot or come on in the very early hours.

You'll get used to who is about and when. Your challenge sounds like fun but would be no good for me during the day, even evenings could be a bit tricky if the other monkeys are doing other things.

Good idea though, if I'm ever around when you post I'll join in, if poss.

There you go:) but Frod just know Im keeping a close eye on you here- I definitely dont want you back to the beginning with your arm-the Wi sounds like a good place to start

  Neither do I ..  .. it's taking long enough as it is

I'm planning on starting the diet proper on Monday when I go back to work. Should I post a STS before Weds or just post my results the following Monday? Wasn't sure as the chart is starting next Weds

NMM Are you at home during the day? I take DS to playgroup from 09H30-11H30 everyday except monday ( I aim to walk as they are all within a mile), then I do veg shopping, walking and one bus back. (I do veg shop daily as we live really close to an open market so fresh veg-and way cheaper than
the chains.) Im normally home about 14H30 and have two hours free whilst DF has movie time.DF normally has DS in the bath between 19:00 and 20:00 and I get on the orb whilst watching home and away. (as I mentioned earlier Im only on 10 mins on the orb right now, but Im sure it will increase)
FFM how does your time look? I can do at least one evening challenge with you. Its never limited. Ive seen cleaning challenges happen close to midnight:D In fact I did one two days ago-much to DF's disgust:D
Frod IM wondering the same thing re STS

Perfect!!! Thats roughly bathtime for DS. I put him down about 21:30. I could report back just before or just after-see, theres at least one HHE (although mine will start at about 10 minutes.
  • polkadot - that exercise challenge sounds a brilliant idea:T . It's particularly quiet as a lot of peeps are away from home at the mo. I'm very sure it will pick up once 'normality' returns next week.
Frod - what's the story with the arm?
Simbalou - you are very welcome to join us: fight the fear and then the only way is downwards:D .
I'm doing the chart at the mo. I will post the 1st one of the new year next wed. 7th You are welcome to post once a week from whenever you choose (that doesn't mean you can't mention midweek weigh in's, but you must make it clear it's not for the chart, hence chart wi's in lge bold letters. Thanks.) All newbies will only appear once you have posted your 1st wi (which can include a sts.) For example, FFM always posts on a sat, raph on a monday - I will log this for the chart I'll put up next wed. ditto the following week.
So when ever you have chosen to start, wi in the same time each week If you are not starting until monday, I suggest you post your 1st wi the following monday i.e. you won't appear on next wed chart.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

hi polkadot, i work from home, so i'm in all day. The 2.30pm looks good for some steps and i can join in the 8-9pm too some nights, not steps though neighbours will complain but maybe jogging or something. Thats 2 HHE's now :) Not sure if i can manage 30mins steps yet, last time i tried i was dead after 10 mins, lol.
