:T HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE:T

Please can I join too? Don't want to be fat & 50 which means I have around 18mths to lose 45lbs!

Things have been a bit stressful (understatement of 2008!) this last couple of years so I'm not going to look on this as dieting but as being good to myself by eating healthy and exercising to feel better.

Plus I will get a whole new wardrobe for free if I can get into all those clothes at the back of my cupboard! :j

    Happy New Year all!!
    Welcome to the newbies :)

Ended 2008 with a pizza and a couple of glasses of wine & a cider. In work 6am so couldn't get drunk, but it was nice to sit in and have a chilled countdown watching Jools Holland.
    Back to the weightloss now!!

  • Hi all,

Hope you all had good new year celebrations (must have been better than mine!), so this is it now - down to the serious healthy lifestyle change!! First weigh in - 21st 7lbs :eek:So there we go, not quite as bad as I thought my first one would be to be honest, but a long way to go - using the bmi target of 24.6 (long-term, that's a weight of 14st 7lbs)) in my signature, currently 36.5. So I've got a way to go, first target though is to get under 20 stone (and get into my old trousers!!).

    Good luck all :T

Kiki where abouts in the world are you? Happy New Year!

I've had to cancel my NYE party tonight as I'm still not feeling well, but I suppose it helps me out diet wise. The guest were not too upset as most of them are recovering from flu anyway. Hopefully 2009 will be a bit healthier for all of us.

Hi Tagz, sorry, only just seen your post.

I live in the UK permanently, but I'm currently living in Australia, so I saw the new year in from Melbourne. I will be back home in April.

I hope you're feeling better from the flu very soon. :)

Good morning everyone - hope the New Year has started well for everyone. I had a good time at home last night with family. We did a buffet with plenty of syns and we all ate too much and drank too much and had a great time. We put on the Mama Mia dved with the song words subtitles and had a great sing and dance along:j:beer::T

But I am now finished with the celebrations, it was nice while it lasted, however in all honesty I am looking forward to getting back to plan and structuring my eating better!

    Today I am having:

Breakfast: egg on toast with sliced gammon - (free, heb, free)

Lunch - Roast beef, jacket potato, carrots, cauliflower, yorkshire pud & a dribble of gravy - (free + 6 syns)

Dinner - a bit of leftover SW meatloaf from the freezer served with any left over veg from lunch. Slice of apple pie with icecream:o - 15 syns estimated?

The syns sound a little high but I am allowed 20 a day since I still have a lot to lose. I don't normally use them all although my consultant is always telling me to do so! That pie is the last piece of Christmassy food left in the house so I might as well clear it out now so it won't be calling out to me everytime I walk past the freezer:D

    Love

Marion, you have just reminded me that I should post what I've eaten today!

I have decided to try and up my calorie intake to 1300 a day, which is going to be hard, without eating crap to big up the calories!

    Today, I ate:

    Breakfast - Porridge (220)
Lunch - Cheeseburger and chips (480+250) (no food in house, needed to eat calories - went shopping later!)
Dinner - Tuna stir fry (1/2 can tuna, cabbage, onion, babycorn, broccoli) (90 calories)
    Snacks - Apple, nectarines x 2, bread roll (50+80+120)

So 1290 calories today. Very lazy today, as I woke up late and weather was terribly windy. So I spent the day putting together a summary of my 2008 finances. :)

Back to work tomorrow, and back to the gym on Saturday.

Hope everyone is well today, and not too hungover! :)

    Hi all  bonjour :)

LL calling from France! Just a quickie as we're on route to Bordeaux at the moment. We've stopped for lunch and the services have free WiFi :D. All going well so far - hope everyone had a good time last night.

    Happy New Year!

    Hiya

I'd really love to join you all. I've lost about 5 stone since April 2007 and have been following SW since August 07. I want to lose another 2 stones this year if possible. I go to SW on Wednesday nights and will post my losses (hope hope!) when I get home.

Looking forward to getting to know you all well!

    Thanx!

Happy new year everyone. I had to giggle at the 2am signups:) We had a good evening-at home, just the two of us (DS in bed fairly early). And OH gave me the most wonderful news. Our lease expires in May (we're in a one bed now) and so he wants to find a two bed for the next year because he thinks its time DS has a sibling:j
So we'll get on track with the weight a bit and see how things go-maybe I should be looking at sureslim again-DS was a sureslim baby (theres an abundance of folic acid in their diet)
Beanilou the laptop was a prize I won at the beginning of the year. I spent a lot of time on the comping thread when I first found MSE and they had a challenge called 2008 for 2008. I will get round to changing my cig eventually-when I actually manage to pin down my goals:o
Do you mind if I ask what your diagnoses is? Im semi-left hemi to a reasonably mild degree:rolleyes: My biggest problem is my hips...my ligaments have done the bow string thing so many times now that my hips are no longer even-had to have DS by c-section for fear of him pinning his umbilical chord....but then just having him was miracle enough for me so I wasnt going to be fussy about the delivery.

Im not sure when Ill start posting my eating plans as we still have one more round of visitors coming (5 to 9 January) so I thought maybe it would be best to wait till after. Hope you all have a fantastic day today
