I'm on the social team at my group and help pack up but I'm usually home by 8:30. If that's too late for you to post results don't wait for me - I'll go in the following week. Our consultant is raving about the new SW plan but I'm worried it's gonna be complicated. Maybe she's just made it sound that way?!
Hi kessik - I'll see how it goes. Sometimes that'll be fine and it would be nice to include you in the same week.
As for the new plan, I rejoined sw classes(after a years' gap, but I have been sticking to plan until a few months ago) it is really really easy peasy. Honest. Consultant went through it this week and I've been doing it 2 days.
I'm glad I spent a 18 months doing the main version though, as that is so firmly fixed in my head so it is no longer difficult. I'll probably do the new plan most days and original (red) on others depending on my day and what I want to eat.
    Tagz, consider yourself restarted:D .
Vixstar - we already have a vix(arooni) here so I can see confusion arising:rotfl: . However, very good to have you on board. Ditto Nicky - we havea few keen exercisers here who will turn up and enthuse with you soon:D . Sounds like you are right about toning up flabby bits, I'm sure that will make the biggest differnce to your shape.
Well done petc re the big weight in. It's down hill from now on. You are never going to weigh that again.:T .

Hi - am feeling a lot better now - shame I missed New Years eve, but the party I missed sounded awesome, however thik of the calories I have saved!lol
BB - can I start again in the new chart please? I think it has me down for losing 10lbs or so, and I lost about a stone last year, but I'm thinking a New Year a New Start!
    My New Year's Revolutions are.....
    1. Leave bad eating habits in 2008
    2. No pastry at all.
    3. Everything in moderation.

I'm not normally a 'no' to anything girl but after a lot of soul searching I know that pastry is my downfall so just saying No may be the answer. It's not like it has any nutritional value that nothing else can give me?? lol

We call them revolutions in our family, and have for a while - seems more appropriate really!

Welcome to all our new people - you all seem to have a lot to offer so I am looking forward to getting to know you all.

We took Tod the dog for a long walk in the grounds of Castle Howard this morning. It was so lovely - there was no-one else around, and the geese seemed to be having a practice marching session - maybe there is a geese war about to start that we know nothing about????.....
Because we didn't make the party last night, we have used the money that we would have spent on an annual ticket to Castle Howard, AND a new digital camera.
It was a posh, expensive party.....

Retired Lady - you were not the only one shocked this week, I weighed myself Xmas Eve and hads lost a pound over the previous week, weighed myself yesterday and 3.8lbs gain!!!!!

OH declined to stand on scales as he ate and drank more than me and said New Years Eve was depressing enough etc etc

Since i started last August have not had a gain at all only losses, I felt absolutely sick. Reason being I barely drank - no really I appear to have gone off alcohol, I can seriously say hand on heart between Xmas Eve and Sunday 28th I drank the equivelant of 1 bottle of wine oh and 1 glass of Champagne.

We had pheasant casserole on Xmas day as neither of us like Turkey, and I had dessert on 3 days. Must have been the 4 biscuit a day habit I picked up!

Wouldn't mind but have taken more exercise than usual over the holidays went out for a bracing walk in the freezing cold each day.

Reminded me how easy it is to gain weight

So as from yesterday back on the wagon and aiming to lose the next bit of weight more slowly as cut back too much yesterday and ended up feeling sick and spacey.

Also recycled my too big PD bras to Bra Appeal @ BreastTalk.co.uk - so no going back and hell i had around 10 bras - amazing what you find at bottom of lingerie drawers!
  • London,I guarantee, if you get back to plan as you are doing, it will come off quickly. (And glad you have realised that eating too little like yesterday will not wrk either). I've already last the 2lbs I put on over the 3 xmas days. Just need to lose the other 2 I'd put in 2 weeks before xmas. Hoping by the next chart I can actually report a sts:D .
lesley - love the sound of your walk this morning. LOL at the geese war. I think cutting out pastry is probably the way to go, though as you say, generally cutting out foods has the reverse effect. But pastry is such a calorie packed thing. I had just got into making in when I originally started losing weight in may 07 and had to stop. Know I keep it for treats at my nmums, who makes gorgeus pies but never buy any myself or make it (poor PH:D ). Will restart you on the chart.

Hi everyone, just wondered if I could join too? 2008 saw me sort out our finances, stop smoking and start work again after being at home with the kids for 6 years. This year is all about me now and to try and lose the excess pounds from stopping smoking. I can't even find my scales! It's been so long since I weighed myself that they are probably under a pile of clothes (that don't fit anymore!).

Will fight my fear and weigh myself in the morning and be back on here to make sure it's written down so there's no getting away from it. Can I join the 5lb a month challenge too while I'm here (in for penny in for a pound and all that!)

I feel like wonderwoman now, ready to change everything!!! Good luck to everyone else x :D

Just had a thought about NMM's request for someone to join.
On the flylady thread we had half hour challenges (HHC's) of various types (Froddington will be familiar) One was an HHE Callenge (half hour exercise). I really dont think they would mind if we borrowed it - Ill even pop over and ask. But what we would do was call a time for a half hour challenge. Anyone called at anytime, and anyone who joined would report back with the results of their half hour challenge. An extra bit of motivation in that you know there is someone, somewhere in the country, doing the same thing you are, at that moment, with the same goal at heart.

Since Ive just only started on the Orbitrek, Im being gentle at 10 minutes, so we could have 10-15 minute challenges to accomodate the bikes and walkers etc or whatever was needed to get through a dvd?

Polkadot - sounds like a great idea! Like you say, even if it's only 10 mins or so it'll all make a difference. I have a dance mat for my Wii and was using that for 20 minute workouts before I broke my arm. Hopefully, I can get back into that without my arm hurting too much

There you go:) but Frod just know Im keeping a close eye on you here- I definitely dont want you back to the beginning with your arm-the Wi sounds like a good place to start.

Although I must say Ive noticed the thread is fairly quiet during the day. I think I remember someone saying a few days ago that the numbers have waned a bit? So are we expecting more company or is this thread mostly active during the evening?
