Thanks alot hun for taking the time and the advise ill try and keep a diary and get a skipping rope :)

No worries! That sounds like a plan! If you live somewhere with stairs, some of us don't leave items on it to take up later, we take them up straight away, even if it means going up & down 10 times or more a day, just so that we get the extra exercise in. I used to put on a selection of my favourite dance music, and use the bottom step of my stairs for a step class years ago, when I couldnt' afford an exercise DVD. There are also exercise videos/DVD's to be found in charity shops for a few pence, or a pound. Keep reading this thread, and new ideas and suggestions come up all the time. We all range from those who are trying to maintain weight, to those with a long weightloss journey ahead of us (like losing the weight of another person). We are here to support, and not to judge, and hope we can help in some way too.

Do try with the diary, and good luck with the skipping!

Its a degree in education, which will be followed by a PGCE so I have the option of going into teaching. See how I said option and not that its what I'm going to do?! I have another 2 1/2 years to go and have got to that point where I just want to throw it all in but know I need to push through it.

Sooo jealous of your "the works" meal. Mmmmm....enjoy!

Cor long time to go then! I could have jacked it all in too but im glad ive come to the other side and say i have a degree! you can do the grad teaching scheme though couldnt you, work on the job. Or you can teach HE without it cant you. Good luck!

p.s the meal was fab, although i had forgotten how much lard goes into making fried bread!

Fred: Aw no thats terrible. I know how awful it can be with grandparents falling over, my nan did it and it was horrible every time. Hope there is enough help for your cousins too...that really is terrible and it must be horrible being so far away from them to help. Hope you have a better week this week!

Scary: Yea i mean im quite good with the public now, especially in situations where people are telling me about cancer and other such personal things so im ok in that respect i think. Its definatly not a career for me, and i feel like im almost telling porkies by applying for it!

Ive had a good weekend. Matts mum said, "have you lost weight?" so thats quite a few people ive built up whove said that to me now :D feels fabby. Although temptation has got the better of me lately :/ but hey ho. Weather hasnt exactly helped there.

anyway, matts moaning that hes tired so im going off now. I need to look up a hotel that this meeting it being held in, feels great to be going to a "meeting" ha. Talk soon folks :D

I want to work with young children, so primary pgce definitely seems to be the way to go. Glad you enjoyed the meal, imagine it was an eye opener after all your healthy food tho!
  • ooh, had a chinese last night and enjoyed every last bit. told myself i had to earn it by doing hte whole of the exercise dvd. y'know, i'd never have got on of these if it wasn't for this thread, so thanks for hte motivation. The wii fit was good, but i think after a few months it wasn't really doing much for me - i was getting a bit better at the yoga and what have you but i needed something with a bit more intensity. the steps dvd is ace, it's very combat based and i think if you haven't done it before you might struggle - they send you straight into side kicks and roundhouses without really showing you how to set them up. claire is the only girl on the dvd - the others are the very fit male trainer, and 3 very fit blokes behind who unaccountably take their vests off halfway through. was amused to see that it had extras so i had a look . . turns out to be the audition for the fit blokes so even more fit blokes with no shirts on. v pervy. Celaned all the downstairs yesterday too, including scrubbing out the cutlery drawer so i definitely earned that chinese. Well eyes down for another week at work, we'll see if i get chance to come on here at lunchtime. . . .

  • lashing it down here too - took so long to put waterproof and wellies and all sorts of warm wrapping I gave up halfway through then gave up and did yoga DVD instead, feel v chilled and supple :rotfl:

Bored of snow talk all over the news etc, you'd think the country was in the grip of an ice age  but I also hate icey roads and stuff so understand about being nervous about it, havent driven anywhere since it all came down last monday. very lucky that I havent had to honestly.

V sorry to hear about Grandpa, we have a Nan who has become very accident prone and has fallen a few times quite badly. VERY worrying and tricky to deal with, esp as they want to hold on to their independence and of course their dignity.

Have a lovely day y'all, am floating off zen-like now :D Claire
Cut interest payments on ccards fm 30% at worst to 0% on only 2, plus a loan so all on good footing now + paying off each month NOT sinking! Thanks Martin!:T
