Lovely bath once it finally filled!

Welcome aiwits - I think you asked for tips think the best one is to weigh yourself once a week only at the same time as your weight can fluctuate greatly during the day and it can get depressing and then turn out nothing was wrong. I've almost got the hang of once a week weighing tho I do sneak a quick weigh in on the evening before my official one so I know roughly what to expect, I'm getting used to the fact I can be almost 5lb heavier at the naughty weigh in.
  • Vix - really glad you enjoyed the swimming - I remember ages ago you saying you'd like to do that for exercise but didn't have a pal to go with. Lots of things seem to be coming together for you now that uni is finally out the way - your own place with matt (glad all well there) and looking for interestng volunteering experiences, cooking etc.:T
kpc - sounds ghastly, I suspect there's an awful lot out there that would inspire the 'they need help' feelings. Well done for not comfort eating after stress at work. How is the job working out generally? Better than your last one?

Beanie, I'm with you on the sofa: saw consultant today and she ordered me to not return to work today or tomorrow and have a few days bed rest.I was quite relieved as I would have gone to work but felt very drained and wouldn't have been able to do much of use. So a 'new' kitchen to play with but confined to rest only:rolleyes: .

She also said I was to eat nice food and what ever I fancy:D . Don't need to be told twice.
Actually the first job that needs doing in the kitchen is washing most of the contents, as a fine layer of dust covers everythng. It'll be worth it as it looks much better already.(and even more importantly will be simpler to use). I just want to finish everything now but it'll take me a while: got 6 cabinet doors to give 3 coats of paint on and then seal.
I'm psyching myself up to have a go at tiling too. Then I have to decide what what shelving to put up and probably saw all that from all the scraps I have in the attic (I seem to take after my dad in collecting random bits of wood becasue they might be useful... about time I used some.)
BB makes note to self in next life to get either a 'handy' OH or a rich one:D
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

So far i'm sticking to 1 weigh in a week and i'm going to do my inch measurements on the first of each month. I figured it would be pointless doing measurements weekly, although my jeans don't feel as tight as they used to and my belt can go on the next hole so i know i've lost something :T

BB, are we going to get a photo of this fab new kitchen? :)

Annie, yup guilty as charged, but it got breezy so i went home :rotfl:

Vix, well done on the swimming :)

Not yet, it's only half done really. And it's wonderful to me because I hated what was before, it mightn't necessarily be all that to any one else. For example, I am thrilled to finally have a draining board - only had a round sink and no draining b before: doesn't necsaarily make a thrilling pic :rotfl: .
Got to paint the plaster first andput lots of shelves up etc, and with my energy levels that may take a wee while.

  • Thank you all for your wonderful welcome I think I will going to bed tonight knowing I have people willing me on and there when I need help.

Do most people with a wii fit only do the measuring test weekly or nightly as it recommends? As i'm thinking now from reading your post's I might just do it weekly so as not to get to dishartened by a animated step asking me why my weight has gone up!!

Well off to bed and looking forward to my cardio at 6.20am

Just want to say thanks again x

    Hi alliwant
I do mine in between daily and weekly, I dont do wii fit every day as I try too mix up the types of exercise. I suppose I do body test maybe 2/3 times a week. Hope that helps, good luck with the early cardio - 6.20am:eek: , that's dedication.

Aiwits will be with you in spirit but so far my new found enthusiasm for exercise has not overcome my "I'm not into mornings" attitude. Though feeling a bit ... cant think of the word ... this week as I haven't had enough time to improve my running due to lunch time meetings and stuff, maybe early morning sessions are the way forward? Hmmm but so is breakfast!
  • Hi everyone. Hope you dont mind me joining your group but I decided today I need to get back on track with my weight. Last year I managed to lose 2 stone but it has started to creep back on and I need to get focused again. I followed the slimming world diet and it suited me well so as from the morning I need to get back to it! lol
Hope that the thought of posting my loss with be the motivation I need.
  • tagz, i was just being silly about some bad fanfiction - are you familiar with it? it's when people write their own stories about existing characters - tv, film, book etc. There's some absolute gold out there, really brilliant writing, but then theres the bad stuff - which i mentioned, and the truly terrifying stuff which involves 'romantic' combinations that you might not have thought of. . . .

Thanks Bbelle, there are times when i wonder why i made the switch with the job if i'm honest. It isn't what i thought it would be. I just seem to spend all my time having other people's mistakes dropped on me, then taking the flak whilst trying to put it right. And it all takes so long! To insult to injury, i'm fairly sure that they've lost my p45 - i've been on an emergency code the last 2 payslips and this week i got a letter from HMRC saying that because i was between jobs i was n a different tax code again. I got paid today and it was £100 less than last month which might not be a lot to some people but it'sa blow to me. There are 2 sides to the job, i work on conventional retail accounts which is great, challenging but manageable; and then half my time is spent on foodservice which is where ALL my headaches are. We do clever things like put costco on stop because a remittance hasn't come in. The second largest retailer in the world! OH has started whistling hte laurel and hardy theme when i come home and recite the daily litany of woe.
