MOrning all. Big welcomes to Frod, annie, emma & scrooge. I'm the keeper of the chart this month. The next chart will be on wed 7th jan, so when ever you choose to start your wl programme, post one wi a week here in bold coloured lettering for me to pick up easily:D . Thanks.
Sorry I'm not able to answer any exercising questions as I'm not really able to do that but someone will be along soon I'm sure.
Marion - I was just thinking ysterday that this time last year we hardly ever heard from you and then one day you committed to posting more and you stuck to that - and it has been great to have you on board and get to know you:T . Thanks for continuing to post your daily menus. I may be picking up ideas:D . Today I return to sw classes (5.30). I'm not feeling too well so it's going to take an effort to organise myself well with food but I'm optimisitc that the class will refocus me as I nee
Vix - sorry you felt pants over xmas. Have a great time in B. Hope you find somewhere to stay. I'm sure there is lots on. We love staying at home and watching Jools. But then we're (relative) oldies:D .
Polkadot - we have several members who have lost a lot of weight over several years. It all starts with the first step, and not giving up the moment you lapse. Get startight back on here and fess up and we'll get you back on track:A . Good to hear all the new year, new start enthusiasm:T .
Frod - excellent idea with the HM batch cooking - makes alot of difference having an easy nutricious meal when you are tired or out of time. I do this a lot.
Morning missyI try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Hi all, reading but not much to say at mo. Vix, sorry to hear you were poorly over Christmas, like you say roll on 2009!
I'm not sure I have anything useful to say on the exercise front right now, sorry peeps. Will try and help with direct questions though. I'm currently mulling over my own exercise plans for 2009 and desperately trying to be sensible. (for new peeps, I used to be a massive sports person but have a longterm illness which has put me out of action for several years). To be honest, I'm just feeling a massive sense of loss around this at the mo - prob time of year as I would always have some sports goals each year. It wasn't helped over Christmas by well-meaning people suggesting I just 'go out for a run' or 'get back on my mountain bike' Soooo frustrating! I've frozen my gym membership too because of my leg, but had to do that for 3 months annoyingly. I'm itching to get out for a walk at least - that was our plan for quality time together on Monday - but being ill has knocked that on the head as well.
Ho hum, sorry for blabbing on, guess I needed to get that off my chestMe thinks I need to go away and spend some time with this!
Have a good day all and good luck with the first meet back today BB xThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Ooh er, good morning ladies
Been doing the flylady thing this morning-kitchen done and heading to the laundry basket next.
I did 455 Calories this morning, DF cooked bacon and eggs (we dont use oil at all) and I had an orange juice squeezed from my Rosemary conley juicer:)
I feel really horrid today, so have taken a block of chicken soup at the freezer-bunged in SC and will make some bread later on. Im toying with the idea of just having Ryvita with my soup-but I do so love my breadmaker bread (ask Frod-she'll tell you)
Frod cakes are really going well.Ive put some pictures up HERE
Have done the chocolate box 3 times now, and am doing a Christening for end of january. Trying to get into the kitchen today to do a test run on my covering as I think I've figured a short cut:D And DF can eat the test-I WILL stay away.
Belle thank you for your inspiring words, its my last goal in sorting out my health. My doctor said it best yesterday-he was writing up a referral to a councelor instead of a dietician when he saw my face. His response was a very "quaint african term of shock" (he is from Zambia originally) and then to say how sorry he was..."what we are trying to do this month is tell your body it is time to catch up with your mind and soul! Forgive me my girl....and remember to love you first-it is winter, we are only practising now for summer"0 -
I would really love some advice here please.
I am a seasoned, yet failed, slimmer - I am still overweight.
I need to lose around 6 1/2 stone
I am a very busy mum who wants to cook one meal a night to suit all the family (hubby is ok but both kids could do with losing a bit) so a healthy low fat regime would be good for all of us.
I don't know where to go - should I go back to slimming world? Is WW better? Or does RC suit the family needs? I have a wii fit now and plan to do it as often as I can but I know I need to do other exercise too and plan to swim weekly with my daughter (she needs to go regulary as part of her GCSE PE course) and walk dog as often as possible. I am thinking that a pedometer is a good idea and would love some ideas from seasoned walkers - will it motivate me as I hope it will. Basically I run a very busy life and find that once I am in a good planned routine I work well. I need to plan meals weekly in advance so I know exactly what I am cooking every day.
Can anyone help with my quest??:rolleyes:0 -
Hi everyone, would love to join this challenge if that's OK? I've managed to lose 1.5 stone over the last 6 months, but really need to get rid of another stone to get down to a weight I'm happy with!
I had planned to set myself a target of end of March to do this, so the "lose 5lb" challenge for 3 months sounds ideal.
My main problem is food/drink rather than exercise - I've got myself into the habit of doing fairly regular exercise over the last few months, but still keep slipping up on the food side. My downfalls are 1) eating c**p at work! and 2) drinking too much wine. If I'm having a bad day at the office (or just bored!) then the vending machine always calls to me - plus I tend to buy unhealthy baguettes and crisps at lunchtime. When I get home I find it hard not to have just a glass of wine - the problem is if you do that every day it soon adds up!
I'm trying to tackle this by setting myself a money saving challenge to not spend any money on food at work (for some reason I'm more likely to stick to a money saving challenge rather than a healthy eating one!) and also by cutting out alcohol completely Monday to Thursday. Have done really well the last couple of days but someone has brought doughnuts into the office today - aargh, that makes today a total write off!
Anyway, sorry for the long waffling post - I will check back in with an update on the weigh in day?
Good luck to everyone and happy new year x0 -

Hi Annie, I cooked one meal for the whole family using RC recipes. In fact we had her salmon spread with whole grain mustard, new pots and veg for tea tonight - really quick and easy, nice and low fat.
All the other monkeys did not need to lose weight so they were given grated cheese, or sauce, butter, custard, roast pots (instead of jackets) etc as an addition to their meal. Plus they would have a 'naughty' pudding rather than a healthy yoghurt.
No reason it wouldn't work for your circumstances.

welcome not tonightJ:j I think your money saving idea is a great way to tackle the work food problem - many ways to crack a nut I say. It is so hard when people buy high fat/sugar foods for a 'treat'. Donuts would be my downfall too.
I don't drink so can't help with the wine prob, other than suggesting you have non in the house at all: that's what I have to do with certain foods.
Well tonight I returned to sw classes . It was really nice to be warmly welcomed back by some familiar faces. Marion - the consultant explaned the new 'made easy' system and it look brilliant to me. Think I will give this a try as from tomorrow. I'd rather not have to bother with a class but I felt I had made he right decison for me. Target is to lose 10lbs, this will bring my bmi under 25 again.
Annie, I only cook for two, but before OH joined me on sw, I cooked us the same food but did extras for him, like FFM does - potatoes, pasta or whatever. SW is very normal food so I would imagin is easy to cook for others.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Hello everyone
Had bread with my chicken soup  Figure Im not feeling happy so had one slice only.
But a little giggle for you all. Preceded by a bit of a waffle to explain background:)
Last year November, I won a Dell laptop, today the left button stopped working-so DF who is an engineer tests what can be tested and says "broken, send it back. So I just got onto a live chat with Dell's technical support and they ask if they can log onto my pc. I say sure ( I love ghosts in my machine) and she logs in. Then I look at the middle of my desktop and see my sticky notes and have to blush...written below my calorie notes from the other day on the same sticky, I have made a note to remind myself of the size cake Im doing for a Christening next month...So my sticky looks like this:
2240-Calorie intake to maintain current
1901-safe calorie intake to lose
10 inch bottom and 6 inch top
