Hello all and welcome Jane, Kiki and Chillgirl.
Think I've blown it this week - the choccy tin kept talking to me.
Just back from the outlaws and I am so glad to be back home!!!!! MIL did the usual sly comment whilst OH wasn't in the room. Looked at a side plate with half mash half broc on and said to me you're not eat ALL that are you. Cow - it was my dinner! Hypocrite then piled my OH and kids plates full of horrible cheap sausages and chips. Nearly burst out laughing when two of the kids said could they please be excused as the food tasted funny and greasy. I gave them sarnies instead! I think possibly my BP is still a bit high!!!!!!!I would if I could but I can't so I won't!0 -
Well I've been away from the thread for a week and what happens?
Three million lovely new people join :j :j -- welcome to you all -- Serendisglair gets engaged :T :T -- Lois goes off on her travels  -- Missy eats sensibly even over Christmas  -- Vix continues to not quite finish her dissertation-- and it's a new thread. Oh and there's talk of pus  and many irritating families.
I haven't been brave enough to step on the scales yet. Three days at a spa followed by Christmas snacking are probably not outweighed by the exercise classes and the extra holiday time walking. But Missy, please note -- I did FOUR classes in one day whilst I was away. If only I had the enthusiasm to do even one a week normally ....0 -
Hello to Xavier, chillgirl and Kiki :hello:
Kiki - you would do well to swap notes with missy, she wrote the book on "how to reduce your calories, exercise like a demon and lose nothing".
That is why it is now interesting to hear about her higher calorie allowance, moderate exercise regime (moderate compared to her previous regime - although still focussed unlike peeps like me) and now she loses or STS.
Great to be back at work (less food to be had) and hopefully get back on track.
missy - well done on your STS :T

LOL at just getting on the bike FFM
:rotfl: What about weekends? No chance of sneaking off for half an hour while Mr Monkey holds the fort at home? As you say though, the cold is really off putting - I struggled to make my cycling quota in November and had to do extra in December. It was harsh! I don't go out cycling when it's dark either.
Oh gosh I forgot about the flowers, they were from an old friend - yes, a male, haha - it was a big surprise though! I think my son was a bit disappointed that they weren't from a 'secret admirer' :rotfl: He's been watching too much tv
Mr Monkey would happily let me sneak off for as long as I like - no probs there - but it's chilly :snow_laug I know, I need to 'man-up' (as my DD would say) and just go for it - but it's chilly...
I think we were all hoping for a secret admirer - oh well, maybe Valentines Day :j

In my defence, it was still the most I've eaten in one week ALL YEAR!Beating my previous "highest" by about 2000 calories!!!
Welcome back Granny! Hope you've got a stash of gold stars, if so please give yourself four of them, one for each exercise class!
FFM this isn't going to help at all but I've found cycling far, far colder than my outdoor joggingEven when I am wrapped up. Brrrrr! Not looking forward to making my quota in January.
Did a one hour cross country jog today and munched through 1700 calories. Lovely!0 -
missy - you're quite right that doesn't help at all :rotfl:
Love your constantly changing avatar, I'm assuming they are all photos you've been taking on your walks/runs ? If so, you've got a real eye for a photo. My OH is into photography, any photos I take just look like 'snaps' - I don't know what it is that makes a 'good photo'.

Hi :hello: Can I join you please? I lost 3 stone last year but, due to breaking my arm, bf being a  and leaving, and depression coming back, I have put about half of it back on
I'm aiming to start dieting again next Monday when I go back to work (I'm a teacher) and it'll be a good motivator to post on here and see the chart.

Hello froddington :hello: It's nice to know you've done it before, so you know you can do it again. The chart does help motivate - that's for sure. I'm always quite good on a Friday just before my Weigh In day which is Saturday
