Hey everyone, hope you all had a good christmas!!
I, did notI was ill. Went to work feeling awful the day before christmas eve, then woosh, couldnt go in christmas eve, christmas ill, boxing day had to take off and then the day after that. Never taken 3 days off consecutively in my life. I felt soooo bad it wasnt funny, never felt that bad in my whole life. So the first christmas in the new flat was a pile of poo.
But, were hoping to be in Brighton for new years cos canterbury is rubbish and i fancy a donnatellos like crazy. Trying to find somewhere now.
anyway, nice new thread!! and lots of new poeple.
ohh p.s being ill has its perks, i hardly ate anything. Yesterday i had a massive Korma because i didnt feel i'd eaten enough fat over the festive season, and that has NEVER happened to me in my whole life. I didnt even have seconds for christmas dinner. Still, roll on crimbo 09!!0 -

Count me in for the 5lb a month challenge. I have been awol from MSE for several weeks due to my new and demanding job (primary teacher) but feel that I must get back into losing weight and debt for this new year. Oddly I have lost around 1 and 1/2 stone since September (probably due to running around the classroom all day). I am now the proud owner of a Wii fit but want to ask advice from seasoned fitters about how to get the best workout from it. I have around 6 and 1/2 stone to lose all told. I look forward to posting and reading posts. Hey FFM are you still selling books on Amazon?0

Hello Frod:wave: so nice to see you again:)
I do hope you are on the mend all over now. I just snuck in through the back door here this week;)
To add to all the earlier posts...my sniffles and snuffles have not done anything for the loss. Had doctors appointment and suppose I should change my Official start weight to90kgs
My BMI is almost 37!And Im only 29! Anyway, darling man he is has referred me to a dietician at the hospital down the road and referred me to an exercise class at the hospital too...does that mean my doctor is very worried about my weight?
Ive only managed 1300 odd calories today-and all that was different from the others is I was aware of what I was eating and swapping for fruity snacks.
Have to see what advice the dietician gives me-would imagine I'll be waiting a small while for an appointment though?
FFM and Missy I'm loving reading your stories about your cycling and your walks...something to aspire to:) I have my notebook at the ready...but not sure when my body will catch up:o
Night night everyone0 -
Welcome Emma :hello:
Hiya Annie, yep still selling books on Amazon - slowly - not putting in any real effort except to pack and post them when they sell. Hope the new job is going well and you're enjoying it. Love my own kids but don't think I could cope with a roomful of other peoples.
I keep checking out the availability of the Wii Fits - probably good that they are not readily available because I don't think the novelty would last long and then I would have 'done my money'.
Hi Polkadot, at the moment it is missy you need to aspire to, I'm the slack-one. Although, I should start cycling to work (if only occasionally) by the end of February when it is light at 7am until 6pm - safe to cycle.
Was doing really well on the food front until about 10pm, out came the unopened box of McVitie's Victoria Posh biscuits and now I feel sick (serves me right). Up until then I had eaten sensibly.
Off to pack my 1 sale of the day and then to bed.

 Hi,
Can I join the 5lb a month weight loss challenge please? No success with weight loss last year, but managed to get my finances under control. This year need both to conform to budgetI learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -
Good morning everyone and welcome to all the new and returned members:j:T
My name is Marion and I was a long time lurker on this and other forums before I started posting. Funnily enough it was as I was losing weight I got less embarrased about posting;)
I started slimming world about 3 years ago for the first time. I weighed in at 29 stone and 11 pounds:eek:. You would think that weighing that much I would be a very fast loser but you would be wrong:o I have managed to lose about 7 1/2 stone so far and many times it has been a case of one step forward two steps back :rotfl:, however I have plodded on with it - I think SW calls it taking the scenic route:rotfl:! I certainly have done that!
I recently started posting my daily menu plan on here and a couple other forums. I find it helps me stick to the plan because my day is organised and I know exactly what my meals are going to be and I don't panic eat:o!
The next couple of months I am also going to try and do a storecupboard challenge so I might be coming up with some weird and wonderful concoctions. On the other hand I have so much food in the house I could feed a small army for a month I reckon!
So here is my plan today - (the bits in brackets are what the foods are in slimming world ie free,hea-healthyextra A, heb -healthy extra b or syns)
Breakfast - eggs with gammon fried in frylight plus 2 satsumas (all free)
Lunch - home made leek and potato soup with a wholemeal roll and raspberries and yogurt after (free, heb, free)
Dinner - SW recipe meatloaf with new potatoes, carrots, peas and brussels.(free) with a slice of vienetta after (10 syns)
hea will be milk in coffee
Have a good day everyone
Love

Hi polka :hello: How are the cakes? I'm doing ok ta - being back at work has helped! My arm is still broken and is a pain at times, but new bone is starting to grow - finally!
My aim for this is to lose 2lb a week, which is what I was doing before. Hopefully, I'll be able to achieve it again. I'm going to cook batches of stuff to freeze before I go back to work so I have quick and easy meals. This should stop me picking at food when I get home!"There's only one way of life and that's your own" - Levellers

Morning all!
FFM, yes my avatars are all from my jogging trails, thank you for the compliment! I just take a small compact camera with me so they are only snaps but I enjoy having a record of where I've been!
Vix, I hope you are feeling much better now?
Annie & other wii fitters, I used to post on the "Burn more calories on Wii Fit!" thread, if you're looking for hints and tips you will find quite a few on there (might take a bit of trawling though!) I no longer use the wii fit but I logged 50+ hours before giving it the heave-ho
Polkadot - FFM is being far too modest. Although her bike is gathering dust at the moment (:p), she has been known to cycle some mean uphills with panniers loaded full of shopping
I've prepared my shiny new spreadsheet for 2009! Looking forward to a fab year.0
