BB - I love raw potatoes! When I prepare spuds I peel them and always peel an extra one for me to munch on!
When life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!

Do you mean sweet potatoes or ordinary ones? If you mean ordinary spuds - now that's just very peculiar:rotfl: No way hosay!
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Eugh! Raw tatties! I know raw veg is very good for you as the vitamins are destroyed by over cooking, but I draw the line at potatoes! My OH doesn't eat veg (yes I know!) and bless him the first time he cooked for me he boiled radishes. Some veg just tastes sooooo much better raw!!!!!
FFM - thanks for your kind words. Ditto what tagz says: you can feel rotten with 'just a cold' and i like it when peeps look after themselves and don't soldier on and feel worse.

I feel the same BB. I have a friend who frowns on me when I say I'm not well. She herself soldiers on and makes a big song and dance about it. Strange though that she usually gets really ill after a few days and moans how she has never felt like this before and it's so unusual for her to be ill!

Sorry for being so rude welcome to our newbies!
    I would if I could but I can't so I won't!

No just the ordinary white potato!:D They are so nice and crispy and delicious! I prefer raw potato sticks to carrot or celery any day:j

  • I had it in my mind that you should not exercise if you had a cold - so, needing no other excuse I ducked out of HHA's last week ;)

However, I have also been a firm believer of feed a cold and starve a fever (never having had a fever).

I just googled 'exercise with cold' and a few links came up which supported both of the above theories.

It also explains why I needed to eat high calorie junk - as your immune system is at risk with a reduced calorie intake.

There were other links though that said you could exercise with no ill effects - trouble is you just don't feel like it anyway - and I believe you should listen to your body - it generally knows best.

    FFM :)

I thought eating raw potato was bad for you - so I googled 'eating raw potato' (don't you just love google?). http://www.food-info.net/uk/qa/qa-fp97.htm

Apparently, it's only the green bits you mustn't eat raw - the only other side effect is flatulence :rotfl:

All the MUD - though am thinking it's like walking in the sand (but messier) ie all that resistance must do something postive for the thighs?! :j

Lost 1lb this week. and MrA has lost 2 (blast him!) all he's done is come on a couple of walks and swapped sugar for the new sweetfreedom sugar replacer. I think it's deeply unfair that men can shed weight easier than us ladies  he's even still on the vino  (our recycling is alarmingly heavy on the bottle side, a little too much rioja methinks!). Am dis-chuffed by the whole inequality of the thing :rotfl:

Still, focus Claire, focus - I have shed 1lb this week, and not made that supremo an effort so things are looking good. and despite the MUD the sun is shining down beautifully so I'm borrowing Mrs Nextdoorbutone's woofer and we're off into the woods at lunchtime (the joys of being freelance and working mostly from home - I am a lucky mare).

Any tips of wrinkles re best marching boots and walking poles would be much appreciated, I have scoped a few but would love any advice on great quality and most excellent bargains if y'have any, many thank yous. I got some cut price Hunter wellies to replace the ones I'd had since school (and that's a MIGHTY long time) that finally passed onto the wellie graveyard - they didnt wear out they were just victims of neglect and had too much growing in them for my feet to ever want to go back into em!

    :D x Claire

Keep up all the good work :j:j x Claire
Cut interest payments on ccards fm 30% at worst to 0% on only 2, plus a loan so all on good footing now + paying off each month NOT sinking! Thanks Martin!:T
