  • Hello - wanting to join in as have a few post Christmas pounds that have yet to be addressed! I lost a load of weight over last 18 months using low GL diet (www.dietfreedom.co.uk - I posted about it a bit last year, but have gone blonde re my old login so am back looking like a new 'un!). Fab Fab - no deprivation, lost in total 5 stone. So these few pounds are not a drama, which could explain whys I've not really paid attention yet ho ho ho.

Anyway, it's walking that is going to do it for us this year I have decided, the Hoarde and i have moved house and are now surrounded by tons of fab walks, up hill and down dale. Wellies have been renewed (in the sale in true MSE stylie).

Sugar is banned, we use new sweetner called Sweet Freeodm which has replaced all honey, sugar, numerous syrups etc - its a syrup and works everywhere and isnt too expensive - esp when you suddenly find a BOGOF! I got the latest Janey Lee Grace newsletter at the weekend (www.imperfectlynatural.com - great site, also has lots of offers and comps in her twice monthly newsletters - here's a link to the latest one http://www.ymlp59.com/pubarchive_show_message.php?inwadmin+974) and you can get a BOGOF on the Sweet Freedom, if you buy one Mild (quite specific about buying one only it seems!) using this link http://www.dietfreedom.co.uk/diet-shop/sweet-freedom/sweet-freedom---mild and put in the code JLG they automatically send you one of the rich ones freee. I have both and use the mild one in tea, cereal and cakes, biscuits etc and the rich one the Hoarde love on pancakes, porridge and that kindof stuff. Amazing, they all love it whihc I reckon will save dosh in the long run as before we had tons of sticky bottles of 'i like this one not that one' type selection. Also fits the diabetic in the family, no blood sugar rushes as low GL which is a big bonus. And have you SEEN the price of honey recently

Anyway, the other activity that will keep us all moving a bit this year is expanding the gardening in the 'grow it and eat it' style. We've got the digging over of the new veggie beds (sounds grand, not that big, but enough to puff us out I reckon!) this weekend, and we're planning a plot with lots of easy grow stuff. I have found that a lot of the gardening sites are fairly premium ££ but there is a lovely if not so fancy one called www.greengardener.co.uk which is clearly run by a man with a total passion for his garden and nature, who is really happy to answer questions when you email them (dumb or not, believe me!) and his prices are not bad.

Hmm, I was hoping to keep to the only weight loss topic, but I think that is all pretty much related. I do go on a bit, sorry folks! Off to stomp up a hill and admire the view as it's a beautiful day and I am blessedly able to take an hour out today and go hike. Might borrow our neighbours dog (another way to get moving, if someone needs help, and the younger Hoarde have made a bit of pocket money this way too).

Now all I need is to find an offer on some new walking boots and a couple of those nordic poles ... :rotfl:

I am waiting for the plumber as there is a leak in the airing cupboard, hope he comes soon.

    howdy,

Went swimming yesterday, aimed to do 50 laps but ended up dong 30, 50 probably was a bit steep cos i havent swam properly for a long time! For the first time in my life, i didnt feel a fat blob walking into the pool, i kinda felt happy with how i looked! i did feel a bit thigh conscious when i walked towards the loo and a bloke was at the shower but otherwise so good. Im well happy, it shows how much of this weight loss malarky is all in your head at times!

    Welcome Claire!

Hope everyone is well, and the cold weather isnt making everyones pain worse xx
