Oh dear you start off thinking he's "very nice buyer" "seems genuine" 10 minutes with these bitter and twisted sellers and he's all the sudden out to fiddle you with his magic plyers.
Only way you can check if it was damaged in the post is if you get to see it or at least get pics, if it was roughly handled to manage to bend the plug they'll also be other signs of damage which would more than likely have knackered the ps2 as well as the plug. The drives on those things do fail especially if they're knocked around. He can't make any claims against the mail and tbh unlikely to be scamming for a £24 PS2[/quot
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1298887 some people will scam for less than £24.00I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
I would send a message back to them saying that you are unable to claim from the courrier company as after looking at the photo, the courrier has decided that the 8 ridge marks across the plug pin show it has clearly been bent by a pair of plyers, and not during transit.
Tell them that they need to send the full unit back, including the old damaged plug along with the new one, back to you by recorded delivery, and you'll give them a refund.
Do you have the serial number of the PS2?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

Why do you sellers all feel the need to lie and make assumptions/sly digs about the buyer, let the courier company decide if it's been damaged in transit or not.Wins: pink kids laptop

Does that also work with HMRC/Trading Standards/Court Service etc?!! And if not, why should it be used against a customer?
I'd rather do things by the book, than get twisted into a web of white lies, bluff, and subterfuge.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
Each to their own I suppose but unfortunately ebay have loaded the dice against the seller so much that its difficult to walk a perfectly straight line when dealing with some buyers.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I have taken serial numbers with other consoles but i didnt with this one.
I agree in honesty but am i honest to claim for a console being damaged in transit which shows definate signs of tampering with pliers? I know what peter the piper is saying. Paypal and ebay often are not fair and i have lost out many times to dishonest sellers and buyers . Feedback shows how unfair they are as sellers cannot leave fair negative feedback anymore.0 -

Why do you trolls always feel the need to make assumptions about whether someone is a seller, and be so unnecessarily rude?
I have never sold anything on ebay in my entire life
The plug has clearly been damaged by hand. I'm quite confident the courier will draw the same conclusion!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

Well let the courier make that decision then rather than lying and inferring to someone they're trying it on. The courier is the only one who can decide to make any compensation in this case, no need for you to start suggesting the seller lies just cos you would. Who's to say there isn't other damage to the box etc.Wins: pink kids laptop
