Well let the courier make that decision then rather than lying and inferring to someone they're trying it on. The courier is the only one who can decide to make any compensation in this case, no need for you to start suggesting the seller lies just cos you would. Who's to say there isn't other damage to the box etc.
What a load of tosh. Why would the courier be the "only one"?
If it was me and I saw damage to the plug like that I certainly wouldn't be involving the courier company. If seller wants a refund then they need to send the item back to be checked over and as it happens the seller will probably be stuffed anyway assuming the buyer follows the correct procedures for a paypal return.0 -
That plug has definitely been bent on purpose with a pair of pliers, I use pliers every other day and that is the exact mark that they would make whilst doing that!
The actual force for that to happen in transit would be massive, in fact the PS2 would likely be smashed to bits.
Unfortunately your buyer is trying it on. This has happened to me before with a console I sold on eBay, and I've sold scores.
Tell them that you are onto them, if they paid using non-paypal then you're fine, tell them to take a running jump. If they paid with PayPal and they open a dispute they will likely win.
However they will have to return the PS2 via trackable means. If it comes back and they've clearly tampered with it you need to get an experts report and submit that to PayPal as evidence.
This is what I did when I got a console sent back to me. I took it to the local Cash Generator where the friendly owner got a report made out for me. It was clear to see that it had been opened up and tampered with, scratch marks all around the screw holes, didn't work at all, cracks in the case etc.
Anyway, just my two pence. Hope you get it sorted. I bloody hate these kinds of chancers!0 -
I have about 20 of these leads floating around.. They are so cheap and easy to come by I wouldn't even consider complaining,
As has been said that lead has ben physically damaged deliberately - the teeth marks show , probably pliers have been used to break it.
If you feel bad in anyway, just send him a plugtop or lead.0 -

OP has already supplied a new plug/lead and buyer is now saying console is faulty.0 -
Im not really sure whether i think it was on purpose or not. Was the quality of the plug good? You see , i know its different BUT i had a phone charger plug, 15 pounds it cost me. I had it less than 24 hours. Pulled it out and one of the sticks that stick out of it literally fell off. And it was not intentional. I didnt even pull it hard. But it may of genuinely been an accident.Proud mummy to 3 beautiful children who I love so so much :oxxxx
Baby girl due april 2016! cant wait to meet her. xxx0 -
I'm afraid the only accident the plug suffered was the one where the wadding fell off the pliers and left a mark.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I would say that has been done deliberately but there again it could have occurred in post but chances of that are very thin. If I was the seller I would buy a replacement plug and send him that. Its not expensive to purchase one! I would do this because it is saving him money if he still wants a PS2 (postage wise). Ask him if he wants a plug or even better, he could buy one!0
