No me neither. As i say i did replace lead as he couldnt get it to work because of plug . He then said ps2 also did not work.
If he does a dispute with paypal will they accept that it has been damaged his end ? Anyone had experience of this?
I feel i cannot go for a claim now as it obviously is not true damage in transit.
I said it would not be worth sending back as it was a tenner and only sold for £24 so if i reimburse return postage and get item back it is not worth it.0 -
Those plugs are rock solid and agree with other posts this would not be damaged in post. Its a screwdriver thats done that damage.. I like Pinkshoes idea about the buyer sending the plug to you as RM need to see the damage for claim..♥♥♥Life is too short to wake up with regrets ♥ So love the people who treat you right. ♥ Forget about the one’s who don’t ♥ Believe everything happens for a reason ♥ If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands ♥ If it changes your life, let it ♥ Nobody said life would be easy, they just promise it would be worth it ♥0

There are clearly 4 sets of "teeth" marks on the bent pin of the plug (at the base, half way up, level with the orange section, and some faint ones just a bit higher) which indicates the pin was damaged by gripping it with something (I've looked through my tool box and can't work out what would make those sort of marks!) and bending it, and certainly couldn't have occured through any form of packaging.
Who suggested that the postage cost to return it was too costly? Him or you? If he suggested this, he could be going down the "can I have a partial refund" route.
I'd ask them to send you the damaged plug in the post, saying that RM want to examine it before you can make the claim. If there are teeth marks on the other side, then it will clearly show that they must've damaged it!
I think this is a great idea. Definitely a good way to call his bluff. I would put money on the fact that he doesn't send the plug and gets bored of his complaint once you say RM want to examine the plug. This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.0 -
or mention that RM will be sending someone out to him to inspect the item for you to be able to make a claim:grouphug:

Personally, I do not agree with making false claims such as "Royal Mail will want to inspect it".
We all know this is complete guff, and simply makes us look unprofessional and foolish when the buyer does a little more research.
We've seen enough threads on here where people have said "the buyer/seller claims that ebay/royal mail/trading standards will do this/that/the other" - and they are quickly put right, and every says what a stupid thing for the other person to say!<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
fair do's
whenever i've gone to make a claim tho RM have told me they need to arrange to inspect the item
tho i've never had to go ahead with the claim for one reason or another:grouphug:

for a plug to be damaged that way in transit it would take lever force or a great crushing force
both would show obvious damage on the packaging0 -
The process for reporting a damaged item may include an inspection for insurance purposes. Please make sure you hold on to the damaged item and its packaging for our inspection team.
Straight from royal mail site.
Also, My mum sent a recorded delivery package to my grandma a couple of years ago. It was seriously damaged in transit and my mum had to send photo's to prove damage. This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.0 -
i have a very good friend called gaz jones (the rare name that it is), who is currently in new zealand. i can't believe he's trawling the moneysavingexpert forums, he never seemed the kind (!):grouphug:

The width of a plug pin is 6mm.
There are 8 gripping ridges on my pliers over a 6mm measurement.
There are 8 indentations across the width of the pin in the photo.
In my opinion the plug has been gripped by a jawed device similar to mine and given a twist.0
