No, I don't use curry paste at all, just dried spices, fromage frais and chopped toms. I'll have a look for my receipe I use most often (it is in the Curry Feast Book) and will type it out later.

I love the curry feast booklet, is it the one that came free with the mag ? I have tried many on the currys in there, my personal fav is korma, but always had it with quorn to cut down on the syns and so i could have rice, looking forward to a good old chicken korma with rice on EE.!!
I also love the rogan josh and sweet potaoe curry!!!

Just prepared the chicken and musroom pie for tea, looks and smells fantatsic..oh i could eat it now..but then my hubby wouldnt get any tea!!!!

So will have tuna salad instead!!!

Daily eating plan Good afternoon everyone. I am late putting my plan up today because I had to go to the shops and get my veg for the week and couldn't plan my menu till then:D

Today is my normal SW easy peasy plan;)

Breakfast/Lunch - leftover ham, left over jacket potatoes, chopped onion and eggs all griddled together to make a sort of spanish omelette plus an apple first thing (all free) using 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil (1 heb) Milk in coffee will be (hea)

Dinner - Chicken breasts marinated in a spicy tomato sauce and then into the remoska with rice and vegetables followed the aldi muisli optifit yogurt with fresh blueberries ( all free) - made the sauce with passata, chilli flakes and a bit of sweetener.

Evening snack - have to plan for this cause I have been eating stuff the last two evenings that I should not be having and if I am not careful I will not lose this week. So I am making a large sugarfree jelly with some chopped up fruit in it and some carrot and celery sticks and will munch on that lot if and when the urge takes me:p:o

It is a lovely day today with the sun shining brightly, makes such a difference to my mood. :D

    Love
    Marion

    Spicy Beef Curry

Serves 4 (can freeze half for a quick meal another night if two of you!)
    Free on Original
Green – 4.5 (not sure why but only 1 syn per portion)
(We use quorn/chicken/lamb anything really not just beef)

    2 onions
    5 garlic cloves
    1lb/454g extra-lean minced beef
    2tsp ground cumin
    1tsp ground ginger
    2tsp ground turmeric
    2tsp ground coriander
    0.5tsp chilli powder
    2tbsp fresh coriander
    1 egg
1pt/568ml beef stock (we make ours with Marmite though it states Bovril – wonder if this is where the syns are on green?)
    1tbsp chopped root ginger
    4 cloves
    1in/2.5cm cinnamon stick
    4 cardamom pods
1tsp ground coriander seeds (never found these in the shops so just use more ground coriander!)
3 tomato’s (or a can of chopped probably does just as well!)
5tbsp very low fat natural yoghurt (pretty much all of a 500g tub IIRC)

(We just tend to make the sauce and put pieces in rather than make the meatballs)

Peel and finely chop one onion and peel and crush two garlic cloves. Place in a bowl with the minced beef, 1 tsp cumin, ginger and turmeric, the ground coriander, chilli powder and fresh coriander. Beat the egg and stir into the bowl. Divide the mixture into 16 equal portions and shape with your hands. Set aside and store in a cool place.

Make the sauce; peel and finely chop the remaining onion and peel and crush the remaining garlic. Place in a pan with half the stock, cover and bring to the boil. Cook for 10 minutes, uncover and simmer for 20 minutes until the onions are tender and syrupy.

Stir in the remaining spices and cook gently for 2-3 minutes. Meanwhile, skin the tomatoes; pierce the skins and place in a bowl of boiling water for 30 seconds, drain and remove the skins; roughly chop the flesh and add to the pan. Stir in the yoghurt and then add the remaining stock and heat through until it reaches simmering point.

Add the meatballs, cover and simmer gently for 25 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent the sauce sticking. If necessary, add more stock or water as the sauce will reduce considerably.

Hope you are enjoying the food and eating lots :D

Are you following green today? (always best to state which plan you are following - there are so many these days :rotfl: )

If you are green today, then you are doing fine,
A choices so far: milk 350ml - make sure you are using your full allowance. Also if you are green today, you could have had an A choice of cheese on your lunchtime jacket potato ;)
B choices so far: weetabix and 1 alpen light - you should have a second today or this will count as syns (3)
syns : just the options drink mentioned (I think this is 2syns)

Remember to eat plenty, sausages, lots of chips, big salad (or pile up the peas / corn / veggies etc!)
And remember to have some more syns - more than 5 less than 15!

    well done!
  • I no its naughty but i normally save up my syns till the end of the week and have a big treat instead of loads of little ones. I was just wondering how many syns are pizzas out of pizza express. They have 2 4 1 at the moment. I'm going anyway on saturday but i would prefer to count it as syns so i know how bad i'm being.
