As I'm from SA, can any one please explain to me what Fromage Frias is?
Have a look on here
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fromage_frais
Might shed a bit mre light on it! I assumed it was a worldwide thing, but it probably just has a different name!0 -
Hi 4li5on,
I had a look at the link you posted and feel even more confused
But will go and have a look at the Cream Cheese sections in the shops and hopefully I will find somethingsimilar.
Can anyone please let me know what the fat contents in the "very low fat naturalfromagefrais" is so that I can maybe compare it withsomelow fat cream cheeses.
Thank you.0 -
morning all.
Hope the results are good penguin - it's going to be interesting to see how WI's go with the new EE plan - my turn for my first weigh in tomorrow!
Not 100% sure about food for today, but I know so far that it will be
B: WW prune yoghurt with banana
L: homemade egg fried rice with bacon and spring onion
HEB and HEA will be my mid-afternoon porridge 'boost' and Ithink I might spend a couple of syns on some cherry jam on itNot sure about dinner yet as I have loads of bits to use up.

Over here, it is classed as a yogurt ( I don't think our cream cheese would go very well with yogurt!). It is usually sold as an alternative to yogurt for children because of it's high calcium content.
Here's a link to an internet shopping page to give you a clearer idea - http://www.sainsburys.com/groceries/frameset/navigation_frame.jsp
The one I get from there is fat free, but I think in another supermarket, it is about 2.3% ish!
Sorry if I confused you!0 -

Off to shops to stock up on fruit and veg..mainly because iv just remembered a quick superfree snack i quite fancy later.
Musrooms and onions slowley cooked in fry-light and then add a spoon of from frai, it makes a creamy sauce and is yummy with a sprinkling of mixed herbs. Also nice on toast if you have an healthy extras left as a warming supper, reminds me of the toast toppers you can get but with no syns!! And can be enjoyed on red and green and ee.!!!Proud to be DEBT FREE AT LAST0 -
I have a tub of fat free fromage frais in the fridge... it describes itself as:
'Fresh skimmed milk soft cheese. Delicious with deserts or fruit puree or stirred into savoury sauces or dishes'
I would head more for the natural yogurt aisle than soft cheese - I think that is a bit of a curve ball

Thought some of you might like this soup recipe, especially with this cold weather we are having!
Dutch Pea Soup - free on extra easy Slimming World
1 lb dried green split peas
6 cups water
4 cups chicken stock
few bits of smoked ham, gammon or bacon
couple of celery sticks including leaves - chopped
couple of leeks chopped
1 large onion chopped
3 large potatoes
2/3 large carrots
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp coarse black pepper
1 glug of hot pepper sauce
1. Prepare the dried peas by combining with the water and bringing to the boil, boil for 5 minutes, remove from heat, cover and leave in water for at least 1 hour. (I used ones I had already cooked and frozen)
2. Add the stock, meat, celery, leeks and onion to the peas and water and bring to the boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1 1/2 hours.
3. Add the potatoes and carrots and cook soup for about 20 minutes, season with the salt an pepper and hot sauce to taste.
4. You can serve the soup as is but I chose to blitz it but left if fairly chunky.
Version 2 - all the ingredients as above but using the peas already prepared from my freezer - I simply chucked everything in my pressure cooker and cooked on high pressure for 15 minutes. Reduce pressure quickly, blitz and serve!
When life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!0 -
