Morning all im a newbie to this thread as I have just started slimming world on Monday night, im sure those scales were wrong but thats another matter  .
Im totally and utterly confused with it all really and wondered if anyone could give me any hints and tips.
Go back to the first page of this thread where you will find a post by Angie loves veg which incorporates my take on SW and should answer some of the questions you have.
I had ran out of weetabix yesterday so last night i tried to find out if i could have cornflakes but according to my book they were in the syns bit? is this right do you have to count any other cereal as syns if they arnt in the book?
Look in your food optimising book at your Healthy Extra B options. this will tell you what cereals you can have as a HEB. If cornflakes are not listed then you would have to syn them. a typical portion of cereal is 28g. syn values can be checked online (remember to note down the password at class) there is also a small syn directory in your food optimising book. the new food directory which contains the syn values for 1000s of foods comes out next month.I really could do with some suggestions for a nice lunch and i really wanted to fit my diet in with my familys tea which i could do with weightwatcher because it was just a points system but im finding this really difficult and i really want it to work.
what kind of foods do you like? let me know and I will offer some suggestions. you family should be fitting in with you not the other way round.Just 1 other question sorry, but how do you work out the syns for eg a little packet sauce mix that can go into a stirfry ? do you have to buy a book or something with all the syns in?
Many many thanks for reading this and I hope that you can help me please.
MM
syn values can be checked online as there is an online food directory on the sw site. If the product cant be found then there is a syn calculator where you can enter the nutritional info. to get the syn value.
you can buy a food directory (the new one is out next month) but you will probably find your consultant has the old one and you can look stuff up while at class.
You can also post details on here as we are a helpful bunch and one of us will look it up for you.0 -
