Hi and welcome to the forum.
The following info is direct from SW Head Office with regards to breast-feeding Mums. Hope it helpsSlimming World recommends breast-feeding mums consume a varied, healthy diet to supply all the extra nutrients needed and advise that they make healthy food choices rather than increasing their intake of fatty foods to supply the additional energy. We recommend that members following the Food Optimising system whilst breast-feeding increase their daily number of Healthy Extras and in particular increase their Healthy Extra milk and cheese choices to ensure an adequate calcium intake.
You can enjoy additional Healthy Extras on top of the usual 2a and 2b choices. We recommend that one or preferably two of these additional choices are made from the milk and cheese section when following Green or Original. If you are following Extra Easy we recommend two or preferably three of these additional choices from the milk and cheese section. Baby's age:
Up to 2 months - 3 additional HE
2 to 3 months - 4 additional HE
4 to 6 months if starting to wean - 3 additional HE
4 to 6 months if breast milk is the only source of nutrient for your baby - 4 additional HE
Over 6 months when weaning - 1 additional HEWe also recommend you enjoy the full 15 Syns a day.
Calcium The recommended daily intake of calcium increases from 700mg to 1,250mg per day which is why we advise breast-feeding mums make at least one and preferably two of their additional selections from the Healthy Extra milk and cheese options, which are rich in calcium. And a breastfeeding counsellor who knows about breastfeeding will say if you have any problems at all with your milk supply, you shouldn't be dieting at all. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Chicken curry is free? Is there a recipe for that somewhere? really fancy something different:D
This is a lovely curry sauce recipe so with the addition of some chicken you can enjoy an authentic chicken curry
Syn Free Curry Sauce
1 Onion
2 cloves Garlic
1 tsp finely grated ginger
1tbsp hot or med curry powder
400g tin chopped tomatoes
57ml/2fl oz veg stock
2 tbspn sweetener
57g/ 2oz very low fat natural yoghurt, quark or fromage frais
1tbspn chopped mint (optional)
1 tbspn chopped coriander (optional)
Chop onions and crush garlic.
Spray frying pan with fry light and place on heat - add onion, garlic, and ginger and fry for 1-2 mins before adding curry powder.
Stir and cook for another couple of mins then add tomatoes, sweetener and stock.
Bring to the boil and reduce heat to simmer gently for 12-15 mins.
Blitz sauce in food processor or with hand blender, and return to heat.
Heat gently then add quark/yoghurt/fromage frais and herbs.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

thanks for both of your replies - my lo is putting on nearly 1lb a week - if that changes dramatically I will of course stop dieting but i am hoping that my switching from junk food to a healthy balanced diet I will in fact be doing him a favour :cheesy:
consultant31 - I think my new mum brain is affecting me:rotfl:can I just confirm as my lo is 7wks old I should be having 3HE both A&B choices?
many thanks

Can anyone explain superspeed to me - the one where you have superfree foods on the majority of the plate? I'm looking to give my weight loss a bit of a boost
Do you mean Success Express where you use superspeed food on two thirds of your plate? Here's the official explanation:-
SUCCESS EXPRESS
Step 1
Have Three Success Express Meals a Day. At each meal follow the two to one principle.
Fill two thirds of your plate with Superfreefoods then one third of the plate with foods that are Free on Green or Original.
Step 2:
Add one or two Healthy Extra ‘A’ Choices and two ‘B’ choices each day from either the Green or Original lists.
Step 3:
Snack on Superfree Foods such as fresh or frozen fruit, vegetables, eggs or very low fat dairy products. You can add Healthy Extras to Snacks.
Step 4:
Choose your Syns; enjoy five to 15 Syns per day. You can enjoy your Syns as part of a meal or for treats.
Snacks, desserts or starters that are not Superfree or Healthy Extras are counted as Syns.
SERVING SENSE
To get the maximum benefits from Success Express. It is best to follow the easy guidelines that put a little structure and control into your serving sizes.
If you find yourself building “towers” of food that’s mainly free on Green or Original, it might be better to go for that choice rather than busting the “true” Two to one Principle.
On a Success ExpressDay,
Everything you eat that isn’t a Free Food (following the two to one principle), a Superfree Food or a Healthy Extra has Syns. If a Syn has a higher Syn value on one choice than the other then you must take the higher value.

Yes, on top of the normal 3/4 you have anyway, but do try to have at least 2 from the A list...so you'd be having 4 As and 4 Bs over all.
As Food Optimising is a very healthy way to eat and you would be having even more calories, I don't see that even a breast-feeding counsellor would look on this as a 'diet', so don't worry bjb., your baby will do well on this and so will youI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
