I was a bit down after Thursdays WI last week as I'd put on 1.5 lb which I didn't think was deserved:mad:. As I'd said earlier I'd had chowmein at the weekend and a few syns over and above what I'd normally have ( usually up to 8, self imposed maximum) but well within the recommended max of 15 and felt that a maintain would have been fair but a gain .................. I was not a Happy Bunny. Friday I was still sulking, Saturday I was unwell (blinding headache and feeling nauseaus). Yesterday I was back 'in the zone' although not ready to post. Today I pop on and find I'm famous! Just the boost I needed so I'm soldiering on and .........
I AM NOT CHANGING MY SIG WEIGHTLOSS 'COS THAT 1.5 LBS WILL BE GONE THIS WEEK!!!! So there

Oh bu**er. I had a weekend off plan. Nothing massively piggy, but I was on a course both weekend days so had a lunch and dinner both days that weren't on plan - buffet, including cheese, crackers, choccy biscuits... It doesn't feel like I've been "bad" (as in if I weren't following SW I prob wouldn't put on much weight) but that makes a total of FIVE buffets this week!! After working out Wednesday night's buffet syns (60! Sixty pigging syns and SO not worth it ) I think I lost the will this week, having had a couple of weeks where I've had to start the week with a meal out etc and stuck 100% to it the rest of the week so I ended the previous 2 weeks at 70 syns (having worked bl00dy hard to keep it down to that) only to put on, or only lose a small amount.

There is no way I will do anything other than gain tomorrow night, but at least I've eaten things I haven't done in ages and had a bit of a break because I did feel like I was plateauing (Its about 7-8 weeks into my plan and its a known danger point of mine where I do silly things and give up!) I'm NOT going to give up this time, and my consultant is back from 2 weeks holiday and I don't have any more buffets lined up, so that should makle a difference. Will do my success express week this week! :A All chivvying along comments welcome ;)

hi guys, whats the recipe for these free chips..and are they really good wivout lashings of mayoniase?hehe

Hi Estherina :D Helmans do a very low fat mayonaise which is stupidly low syns (I can't remember off the top of my head but for example about 1 syn per desertspoon rather than 2.5 for normal) and tesco's discounter very low fat mayonaise is probably also low syns, but I haven't looked it up yet.

So you can have your mayo AND eat it :D

(as in have yoru cake and eat it? Groan, sorry for the rubbish pun I'll go now :o)

    Naturally -

I am probably not the best person to be chivvying you along, what with my slip ups this week - but how about - "if I can do it, you can do it too"

Consider this a friendly boot up the bum!! My colleague gave me a verbal boot up the bum this morning and has motivated me!

I am fed up of being able to feel my flabby belly resting on my thighs when I am driving, and my back fat getting in the way, and not being able to wear the clothes I want to, so as of today it stops!!!

I am sticking to plan, going to take more exercise, so I can be proud of myself and my body, rather than sad and depressed!! The time is now!!!

ps I hope I keep it up after all that!! :rotfl:
  • Just had my first home WI and have lost 4.5lbs which is good but was kind of hoping for a bit more (I lost 1 stone in my 1st 2 weeks last time I did SW!)

Am struggling to stick to plan as I'm having horrendous sugar/carb cravings and am feeling deprived even tho I've not gone hungry. :o Nearly all my syns have been spent on chocolate or sweet stuff - all 15 of them every day.

I am still fully breastfeeding my 6m old baby (we've not started weaning yet) which probably isn't helping my cravings. I've been allowing myself 2-3 HEA and 2 HEB on the extra easy plan (if you are breastfeeding a 4-6m baby, not weaning, you can have 4 extra HEs I think) does that sound ok?

Just feeling a bit unmotivated really and need a kick up the bum to meal plan for the next few days at least so I'm not stuck wondering what to eat.

    thanks
    Mum of 7 (aged 14y to 1y)
loving SW - 5st off and counting! :j

Ok you'll probably need to enter contortionist mode to achieve all this so good luck.:D
Put your head down, blinkers on, tunnel vision, focus, nose to grindstone, put your back into it. Give yourself a kick up the backside and have a word in your ear, but also a pat on the back for sticking with it :D
    HTH;)

I am doing extra easy at the moment, do people think its good, or is red and gree days better?

On the subject of extra easy, I think that you will find that new members to SW will love extra easy and those members who have been doing SW for a while will hate it.

We are divided in our group - our new members rave about it and our old members say they prefer their red / green days.

At the end of the day, follow the plan which suits you the best. extra easy doesnt work for me and probably my favourite plan is mix 2 match which is what I tend to go with most days.

Thanks Flat Eric, what sensible advice, just wish I could have used it instead of grabbing everything I could and stuffing it first.
No forward thinking or planning, that's where I'm losing the plot nowadys.
I had good food choices in the house but wanted instant fill full food.
Its WI tonight and I am truly feeling depressed about going. I think I will say whatever tonights weight is will be my target for a couple of weeks, will give me time off for being scared of WI ............... I think??
    See how it goes???
    LL

Just to mention I have been on SW for 15mths and had 4 st to lose, lost 2st and have put back on (God knows how) 5lbs. Have been feeling really low about diet, even though I know it works, seen Dr's and specialists and its all down to me, nothing is wrong.
This support thread is really helping (believe it or not from how low I sound) and every day I struggle through but think I may have lost some of the plot since I stopped losing.

I wanted to do success express this week as its the only plan I havent tried in all my months of going to SW. I never got round to it unfortunately and I weigh in on Tuesday

I have had a couple of days this week "off plan" but for the days when I have been following SW, Ive stuck to it as I should and not gone over my syns! (normally if i have a day off plan - the whole week goes pearshaped)

Ive had either red / green or mix to match days and I have supplemented all of my meals with superfree foods - mixed salad leaves, baby onions / spring onions / peppers / pickled onions etc so the principle of success express is there, Im just not religiously measuring the 2 to 1 principle.

You mention you have been hungry and I am not surprised if all you have eaten is just what you have listed.

let me comment on your menu by including what I would have added if I was eating it.

    B)Boiled eggs
Melon, 2 wheetabix HEB Milk from allowance HEA

    mid morning snack mullerlight yogurt
second mid morning snack - carrot and pepper sticks served with very low fat fromage frais mixed with lemon juice, chilli flakes, cumin powder and fresh or dried mint (for a dip)

    L) Still 'hungry' for substantial food, so Alpen your other HEB with a banana and Muller yog

How can you feel full if both your breakfast and lunch are cold meals? Im not being critical but your "lunch" would have been my lunch pudding. I would have made your day a mix to match day and had a jacket potato and beans for lunch with 28g cheese as my HEA. also some mixed leaves / tomatoes / spring onions / carrots etc

Afternoon snack - piece of fruit / alpen light 3 syns

    D) Roast pork, fry light butternut squash, cauli, runner beans, small stuffing ball, 4 tbsp gravy made from granules.
I reckon about 12 syns in there!

I would (if it was me) have skipped on the alpen at lunch and saved the HEB to have 198g of baby potatoes cooked as roasties the SW way with my roast pork. I dont think your roast would have amounted to 12 syns - more like 6 (3.5 for stuffing ball - 2.5 perhaps for gravy) but thats just an educated guess.

    S) 2 Roses chocs 5 syns

I would have skipped the roses and gone for something more fulfilling. two roses chocs gone in a snaffle. A treat size bag of cadburys buttons is 4 syns and each one can be savoured.

as an alternative to the chocolate though, I would go for a meringue nest (typically 2.5 syns) and served it with total greek 0% yogurt (free) and mixed berries (both free)

Im not sure how long you have been doing the plan or how far you have to go - (ive had trouble keeping up with all the posts recently) but think of SW like a money box. you are putting something into the moneybox by following the plan and although the results might not show just yet they will in time. Have a look at your superfree pages - perhaps write a list out and make it your challenge to cross as many off as possible. I call it slimming world bingo!

If you are hungry then you are doing something wrong (as our consultant would say). Your morale will also be low because you will be thinking what is the point of this?

no matter what the scales say tomorrow, stick with it. if it was easy we wouldnt need sw and we would all be slim. Unfortunately I like to munch too much! and I have paid the price but now when I munch, I do it with my eyes open and have SW to get me back on the straight and narrow.

Angie loves veg recently said plan SW around the food you want to eat so perhaps post a list of your most favourite foods and I will see what i can think of for you.

    sending hugs :grouphug: :grouphug:

    hi Jess and welcome :hello:

I know you said you cant afford to go to classes but its £9.50 at the moment and well worth going for the first week and hearing about the plan and getting your books. the food optimising book you will get is fantastic, you will get a password that will last a couple of weeks and get you access to the website, which has loads of great recipes and info, and you can buy books from the class. To be honest they are really overpriced on ebay.
But if you need any help or info we're hear for the asking.
