I was worried about me too for a while! I'm wondering if I need a thyroid test - no weight loss (not quite gaining either but that could just be balancing each other out), constantly freezing cold, so tired I could sleep for a week (usually not got much energy but never been 'sleeping' tired before!) and depression

Hovis Best of Both White Bread, 800g medium sliced loaf 1 slice

red.gif Original 4½ Syns green.gif Green 4½ Syns

This bread is NOT a Heb as there's not enough fibre in it. You'll have to syn it sorry!

Hellmann's Extra Light Mayonnaise 1 level tbsp

red.gif Original ½ Syn green.gif Green ½ Syn

A smidge may be half a tbsp or maybe a tablespoon - you really should measure it.

You now have a HEb spare (as you're synning your bread) so you can have another Alpen Light to make the two as a HEb.

Hope the beef was extra lean and the gammon had the fat cut off otherwise there's syns there too!

C xx
• Morning peeps !

Am firing on all cylinders today - have started to trawl through my pile of SW magazines for meal inspirations - if only I could feel this positive every day I wouldn't have a problem losing weight and would have cast iron will power!

I have a joint of beef in the slow cooker which I am going to have as a roast for tea. (Will finish it off in oven but DH is fussy about beef and finds it too chewy unless it is slow cooked for about a day!) My question is gravy - can I use the juice from the meat in the slow cooker as a base for the gravy ? I usually use juice from the vegetable steamer but it seems such a waste not to use beef stock if I can. It was an expensive joint of beef so there was no fat on it to begin with. I love thick gravy - how does everyone else make their gravy the SW way ? What is the most syn efficient way to have loads of gravy on my roast ?

• Hello

Just a quick one before I get back to work!

Last night's meal out, well, wasn't brilliant but I think I did ok considering:

Bread and oil (6 syns for bread and 6 for oil)
Starter: Pigeon breast, mashed potato and cabbage (EE day so free + I'm counting 6 for butter in mash and sugar in cabbage thingy; the whole portion was v tiny)
Main - steak (do they normally grill or fry in steakhouses?) allowing 6 syns for oil, and another 6 for the butter/fat that the "healthy" (shared) sides of steamed vegetables, wilted spinach and mushrooms obvious had!
2 syns for the most lovely chip - just the one - I thnk I've ever had!
Dessert - moi?? I'll just have an espresso please!

so about 30 syns for the whole meal - and there was me thinking I was making sensible choices (ok not on the bread and oil but god it was good!) but I suppose if I hadn't been then the syns couls have easily been over 70.

I have underactive thyroid plus anemia which leaves me with many of the above symptoms if not treated...you just have to have a simple blood test to find out. Go for it Catt as it is horrid feeling like this...and it can be treated quickly and simply;)
• my WI tonight too loo brush .... oh wait did I get your pseudo wrong there  :p
Me too. I'm excited and nervous all at the same time :rotfl:
I've just had the sweet chilli sharwoods noodles in the new magazine - free on green. Well, they're supposed to cook standing upright but they're too tall for the microwave at work (not sure if they'd fit in mine either). So after 2 mins of cooking pretty much on their side, even after my diy of opening the edges on the side at the bottom to reduce the height, they're all stuck together. They're ok, but not saucy/tasty enough and they were £1.49 at Sainsbury even though magazine suggest 99p. Not sure I'd bother again.

Just popped a complaint letter in the post, wonder if they'll send me a coupon or my money back....
Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!
