thankyou for all your tips i have had some grapes/watermelon today but to be honest its a realy effort as im not much of a fruit fan and i dont like yoghurt either :@(
i could add a salad with my supper though and corn on cob counts as a veg doesnt it ?
i thought it may be a problem the fact that i dont eat fruit that much i wish i liked it but im not keen at all
  • It won't be a problem not eating lots of fruit, but obviously eating a wide range of foods is good for both health and weight loss :) Could there be some fruits you enjoy? bananas? strawberries? frozen grapes?

Of course corn is a veg, but it is a free food, not a superfree one, as it is only free on green days, not red days.

Your egg is superfree, and you could always increase your superfree foods by adding another egg, some onions or mushrooms or tomatoes, rather than salad (although that is always an option of course!)
  • If anyone around have a quickie question doing a roast beef for supper, want to know if I cook with fat on it, but remove all fat before eating is is still free, or do i need to add any syns for cooking it with the fat attached ???
Thats fine as long as you remove any fat before eating, its abit like cooking a chicken with the skin on then removing it before eating it..

sorry this post took so long ive been laid up with earache all afternoon and the painkillers have just kicked in.

ok My food directory would seem to confirm my suspicion that my fresh rice noodles are not free. My directory doesnt specifically refer to rice noodles but does say that fresh egg noodles are 2.5 syns per 100g.

Can anyone explain why this is? as if they were dried rice noodles, they would be free.

they were so tasty (just as tasty as my local chinese!) hence, I guess, the consequent syn value!!
  • .. I think that fresh noodles are coated in a small amount of oil. Usually on the packet the ingredients are 98% noodles, 2% oil... or something like that

It is the oil - BUT I have a feeling that Amoy straight to wok rice noodles are free. In any case, to get the syn content of your Tesco noodles, I'd use the Amoy values as they can't be any more syn-full the Mr T's.
  • the tomato based ones - yes. The milk based ones, I use some of my A choice milk allowance. Never tried making a milk based one with water, but I'd guess some of the SW have. I think a couple of them have something like half or 1 syn, but the chicken and mushroom one is definitely free.

Yes, you can make the creamy/cheesey sauce ones with just water and they are fine, or add some quark or VLF fromage frais just before serving. :T
