Hello all, I am not going to mention all that I ate last night for an early Val meal, but it included a huge portion of duck. I didn't think I could resist the skin but hey presto I found myself peeling it off, and the underlying fat, and putting it to the side. I later brought the skin, and some of the duck, home wrapped in foil for cats, birds and (duck) for me in stir fry. Someone else said their tastes had changed since eating more healthily - I wonder if that's it. Having said that I just ate a bar of fair trade choc, a valentine treat. No, not a treat for me, a treat for someone else but too bad I shall have to buy another for him!
However..... re quorn sausages. I quite like them but I recommend NOT treating them as regular sausages, that is, don't grill them or anything. I chop them into smaller pieces, spray with my olive oil spray and pop them into a shallow dish with tomatoes, mushrooms, bacon and (later) baked beans for breakfast via the microwave. In about 2 to 2.5 mins the lot is cooked and you can do your egg in a separate small bowl for about 1 minute while the other lot is resting. Breakfast in 3 minutes, and you can eat it from the bowl!:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

I bought some fresh rice noodles from Tesco thinking they would be free.
I decided to check - just to be sure but when I looked online I couldn't find them on the syn list under Tesco and when you enter the info. on the syn calculator, you can't give it a free food allowance because the only noodles shown are egg noodles!
If you enter the nutritional info it comes out at a staggering 31 syns for 385g of rice noodles! Im sure I recall "fresh pasta" has a syn value so I guess the same applies to fresh noodles which is a real shame as they were really tasty.0 -
I had a huge stir fry last night including what i now think were high syn noodles (see above post).
I did go over the "15 syns" as I enjoyed 100ml red wine, 25ml malibu, a milky way (6 syns), an alpen light (3 syns) 20ml organic sweet chilli sauce (no nutritional information) and about 60g Hotel Chocolate chocolate! and thats just what I can remember!!
Today started well with my 71g dried apricots (HEB) and a mullerlight followed with lunch of Jacket spuds, crispy smoked bacon (fat removed prior to cooking), mixed leaves, spring onions and 20g cheese (syns as following extra easy today) and 20g organic sweet chilli sauce.
Ive blown it now though as Ive eaten a gingerbread man (12 syns) and several more mouthfuls of my Hotel Chocolate (valentine) chocolate.
Tea tonight includes the Slimming World beef madras curry (free), rice, jacket chips and possibly some (synful) noodles. Sounds greedy but the jacket chips are so Im not tempted by the naan bread. I thought my OH was making the SW onion bhajis (1 syn each) too but cant see the stuff prepared for that so not sure.
Pudding is GU Hot Chocolate Souffles puddings (16 syns each!) served with either clotted cream (4.5 syns I think for 1 tablespoon?!!) or light vanilla ice cream (100g = 7 syns) and fresh raspberries.
Add to that a bottle of wine between the two of us (12 syns for half a bottle?) and may be a malibu and coke (25ml = 2.5 syns) and a brandy to finish things off (another 2.5 syns) and the syns are starting to stack up spectacularly.
I had kind of planned this syn feast (for want of a better word) by allowing myself 40 syns for today, 20 for yesterday, and roughly 5 for the other days but eating the gingerbread man (12 syns) has kind of made things go a bit pear shaped. Its too late now though - I have munched it!!
Im not usually one for saving my syns up and keeping them low or none the rest of the time - I just though I would try the experiment to see how I got on!
Have a lovely valentines evening everyone. :heartpuls0 -
Happy Valentines Day all!
I was looking forward to a romantic day in with my man but....he has really bad toothache! he's gone back to bed and I'm here with just the laptop for company!
We cant find an emergency dentist round here so he'll have to suffer until Monday morning.
I was so bored earlier I made some chocolate mousses for dessert tonight and ate all the chocolate that was left over. I feel like a pig now and am actually craving vegetables.
I'll have to write off today as one of those things and hope that hasnt affected my weight loss, what with the panini and brownie I had for lunch plus the wine waiting in the fridge for later......oh dear. They have the internet on computers now?! - Homer Simpson
It's always better to be late in this life, than early in the next0 -

If anyone around have a quickie question doing a roast beef for supper, want to know if I cook with fat on it, but remove all fat before eating is is still free, or do i need to add any syns for cooking it with the fat attached ???Just because your paranoid does not mean they are not out to get you ! :rotfl:0

Sounds good owens ... obvious stuff, 'fry' your egg in frylight (not oil), syn any spread etc..
There is no problem at all about using both HB on the same thing - I sometimes 'double up' a meat portion on a green day by using 2 HB of meat... as others have said, try to vary your B choices through the week to add variety to your diet - again, this will help speed up your loss.
It is important to make sure you aren't hungry, but do try to use some 'superfree' foods (that is, foods that are free on both days - green veg, fruits, salads, egg, quorn etc etc..) as they will speed up your weight loss compared to only eating 'free' foods (which is mainly what your plan includes at the moment)0
