I have just been to weigh in and have lost 1/2 lb - im devastated!!!

I gained 1 & 1/2lbs last week so i was super super good this week, I synned absolutely everything and had exactly 9 syns per day.

I went out for a meal on Sunday and whilst everyone had fabulous game pies and chicken drenched in cheese and sauce followed by fudge cake and cream I had a plain chicken salad without any dressing and a diet pepsi.

I have been having mainly EE days with a couple of green days and 1 red.

I think I will have to go back to red/green days as this EE plan is obviously not working for me.

I know its a loss but i have tried sooooo hard this week and I could have a good cry.

Could have written this myself as I am in exactly the same position! Did everything to the letter this week, wrote everything down etc and lost just 1/2lb. What I have decided to do from tomorrow is the 1/3rd plate of superfree foods .. I feel of the whole week my intake of veggies is lacking (lots of bolognese etc) so going to give EE another whirl with more veggies and more fluid ad of course writing everything down! Will report back next wednesday !

Daily eating plan - yesterdays! Well everyone I did it - 3 whole days at 100%, every single coffee, apple anything that I ate or drank has been [STRIKE]diaryed diaried[/STRIKE] put in the diary and I have been perfect. OMG I had so better lose weight on Monday! I know my signature is wrong but I am not going to change it untill after my next weigh in - just to keep my motivation up you understand:o:p Miracles do happen :rotfl::rotfl:

So yesterdays eating was EE again - I just put down my food here, I don't list my coffee, drinks of water squash etc.

Breakfast - Marions fabulous blueberry rice - 3 scan brans (free, 1.5 syns)

Lunch - Chopped up turkey, onions, peppers heated through with half a jar of Tiny Deol curryslim sauce served on a bed of rice. - (free, free, 3 syns)

snack - apples, plums and a banana

Dinner - Bolognaise Pasta Bake with peas and butternut squash - (3 syns ,free, free HEB cheese on top)

snack - Muller chocolate and cherry layer yogurt (2 syns)
Milk in coffees was my HEA

Looking forward to today, the big test of course will be the weekend. We have a friend arriving from Sweden who will be staying with us for a week. She is a young girl who I know has gained weight this year and is not very happy about it. I shall be cooking SW meals for her all week and see how she gets on with it, not sure if I will tell her or not! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

First of all well done to everyone who is losing and staying the same. Have been doing SW since Sept and weight has been coming off steadily even with a holiday and Christmas. However over the last couple of weeks I have just lost it. Last week I gained 1.5 and another 1 tonight - I just seem out of control but still have another stone at least to lose. Does anyone else get like this? How do you remotivate yourselves. All ideas welcome.

another thought. I bought a diary (initially a week per two pages but then got given a page a day diary)

Sit down during a quiet moment and plan a week's menu. I found this not only helped me keep on track SW wise but also helped me with my grocery challenge because I wasnt then picking stuff up at the last minute that I didnt need and which had lots of syns!

The page a day diary is a better option because it gives you plenty of room to write how you felt that day which can be interesting to look back on particularly as my mood influences my food choices.

Also - you could follow one of the weekly menus in the SW magazine (and that usually gives you a shopping list. which makes things easier). :D
  • Flat Eric,
your extremely long post is a really inspiring one, it has made me look back and think about what i am doing and why, and it has also given me some good ideas to help my dreams become reality.

Make a list of your favourite syns and stick on the fridge so you can remind yourself what the syn value is. Its easy to forget. This one i particularly liked, thanks i always forget whats in a glass of wine or should i say each size of glass and well you can imagine the rest  .

Dont forget to measure everything, your HEA and HEB options particularly and dont forget if you are following EE, just one HEA and one HEB option only. I never measure now so will start again..

Plan your syns - I find when I dont, I go over. Its easy to say "I will just munch that treatsize chocolate bar I brought to work just in case I fancy it" only to forget that you want your syns for that large glass of wine and chocolate moose in the evening. I find the more I syn, the worse I syn if that makes sense. I.e if things start to go pear shaped they invariably get worse and i syn even more because I get cross with myself and therefore punish myself by .. eating more syns ! no logic to it but there you go. this is exactly me, the more i syn the more i think "well the damage is done so what the h**l and have more.

Buy some luminous stars from your local newsagent/stationers and write different weight losses on them i.e 1/2 pound, 1 pound, 2 pound etc. Write out enough to cover the weight you have left to lose and stick on a pinboard. Each time you lose a pound, remove a star, each time you gain a pound, add a star etc. having something visual to look at (i found) influenced me because I knew I wanted to be able to remove a star after weigh in so would resist munching! I really like this idea, i have a great big cork board on the back of my bedroom door so if i were to star it up and it be the first thing i see when i wake up and the last thing i see when i go to bed it could really help. I might even buy one for the back of the kitchen door too.

:T Thank you so much it has helped me alot,:T right im off to read all the other posts now.

where it the confusion? We confirmed it was free, as did your consultant

I can't see where WE confirmed it was free as it's a pasta Mug Shot and AFAIK the only pasta one thats free is Tomato. It's not yet on the website so no answer there. (but if consultant thinks its a new free one then she must know!) Me confused too!

ok, I didn't see the different between pasta and noodle.
  • Hello everyone

About burnt on food - I seriosuly recommend getting yourself some stardrops! Something like 69p for a bottle that lasts AGES and really versatile. :j One of the things someone on the OS board recommended was using it to get burnt on food off - and one my my pet hates is how hard it is to get burnt on food off things like oven baked dishes. Stardrops is SO good for it! :D Just soak like you would in washing up liquid for a bit. Its sold in home bargains and possibly supermarkets.

    About my day/week:

For the first time since I restarted SW I had a blow out after WI. Really  kicking myself because I hadn't planned it, didn't enjoy it and now that I know my Dad isn't visiting this weeked I could be in with a chance of a loss of 3lbs and get my stone award!!

I'm also concerned about myself because yesterday I ate 3 portions of dinner :o - ok it was free but I really really don't want to get into the habit of stuffing myself.

I'm also feeling in mortal danger of being BORED of food - this time since joining I have kept myself motivated by trying new recipes, but I feel a little bit like I've exhausted all the new recipes I fancy and know I'm in danger of going over my syns as a result.

I am also spending loads of £££ on food which is not very MSE, but its becuase I'm enjoying EE instead of all green which I used to do. Part of me thinks I should let myself spend spend spend on food as long as it keeps me interested in SW, part of me knows at some point I'll probably have a month where I need to cut back and food bills would be the obvious choice. I mean, I currenty spend £35 maybe £40 for food just for myself! I used to budget £25, and usually came in at £15 or £20!! Its wrecking hacock with my obsessive budgeting spreadsheet, as I keep on spending a few more quid on SW food I fancy and allocating it to other budgets which I have underspent on - so far this month my car, phone bill and social budgets have all involved food :rotfl: ! I'm careful to stay within overall budget though. :A

I'm not "there" mentally at the moment to meal plan for the whole week - I know I'll fancy something that isn't on the menu, and as I say, indulging that (in a SW way) is what is keeping me on the straight and narrow!

    Gah! Sorry for the rant!:o
