I'm a little bit apprehensive about this week, I've got my 'op/procedure' (or whatever you want to call it!) on Wednesday. I've got to have a general so I'm not looking forward to that (only had one once before and felt awful for about a week after). I'll miss this weeks WI because that is on Thursday and because I'll be at home flopping about,( I'll have a sick note for a week after) I may go off the rails big time. It'll go one of two ways, either I'll feel so bad I won't eat anything or I'll be feeling sorry for myself and eat everything in sight. I've just made a fresh fruit salad to nibble on and have HM soup for lunch as I'm trying to stay on track in the lead up to Wednesday, but after that ...........who knows?

Well, if you do go off the rails say to yourself that it's ok you just want to do things to make you feel better, but you WILL get back on the plan when you feel up to it
Hope it goes well for you :)

Weekly Weigh In Well after missing weigh in last week due to the snow and guessing a STS I got weighed at class today and was horrified to have put on 5.5 lbs

I have no one to blame but myself, I have been enjoying EE so much that I "forgot" I was on a diet and didn't bother counting the little extra that creeped into my daily eating. That extra glob of mayonnaise on a sandwich, big glob of ketchup with SW chips, not measuring my cheese or my milk in my HEA, forgetting to count the s yns in a jar of sauce (split between 4 of us so it can't be many - yea right - not!) handful of crisps off my husbands plates, chicken nugget from daughters plate... well it just goes on and on.

Hopefully I am smart enough to learn from this and have given myself a stern talking to. I have to learn that I can not eat whatever and whenever I want and get away with it.:o

This week I will write everything down, and I mean everything - I will be an :A, and see how I get on.

    Love
    A very chastened Marion

Well done for admitting it Marion! I agree EE doesn't feel like a diet. Missed last weeks WI too because of snow and not looking forward to tonight as although I've been 100% good for a fortnight I still don't seem to have lost anything (home scales - naughty I know).
I'm really really down about it now and it's dragging my whole life down. I can barely bring myself to get up in the morning and I almost cry at the thought of going to work, I just hate it. Fell out with OH yesterday as he let me down and its just all making me feel like my depression is on its way back but worse than ever. I'm still around and do read the thread (I try to keep up!), but can't even get up the motivation to post/help anymore :(

I know it is hard SC, I hope you manage to get rid of your "blue funk"! You offer so much support on here and always seem so upbeat that it is strange to think of you struggling just like the rest of us! I always look forward to reading your posts, and even though I have been doing slimming world for so long I still learn new things about it all the time.

I am going to change the way I do things a bit and see if that helps. I think that EE is a brilliant plan but I think the thing is when you (I don't mean you specifically) are on Red or Green and you play around with the diet abit you will still lose weight. If you are on EE you can not play around with it - if you do you will gain weight! Simple as really! I have been playing around with it and got my fingers well and truly burned:o:p

Instead of posting my menu plans on here in advance, I will post the following morning a synopsis of what I actually ate - instead of what I planned on eating! Generally speaking I do follow my plans 100%, however there are always a few extras that get put in that I promptly forget all about and then get surprised when I get on the scales, although I do sometimes get flashbacks about it - especially when the consultant asks if I have been 100% and I say yes:rotfl::o:o

Anyway cheer up SC - we can miserable for today but tomorrow we will get over it and start again!:D Deal?

    Love
    Marion

Thanks, but I really don't think I'm going to bounce back so easily from this. Spent saturday wandering around the shops with my Mum with eyes welling up wishing I wasn't fat, yesterday crying just because of everything and this lunchtime they were talking about slimming pills on the radio and that set me off. I'm so desperate to lose weight (wanted a stone off by this week) and I just can't seem to lose 0.5lb!

Skint-catt- you are doing so well! Don't worry about a couple of bad days. Just try to stick with it from tomorrow onwards. If you need to have a bad day today, then do. Get it out of your system and really start again tomorrow. You could post your meal plan on here for support if that helps?
    Good luck and chin up!

  • sorry Marion and Skintcatt that things haven't gone well. I've started writing everything I eat but not using the SW forms. I have divided notebook pages for each day into columns: Superfree/Free/HEA/HEA/Syns and I write under each one the various components of a meal. That way i can easily see that my Superfrees are more than my Frees, and that both are way more than my syns. It makes it easier for me, I don't know if it would help you?

Lo, good luck for the procedure
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

I haven't lost anything in nearly a year, wasted so much money and time. If I was cheating then I wouldn't be worrying  Sooo desperate to do this  I used to print my meal-plans on here, but just been filling in food diaries at home instead so I can show my consultant. Tonight I think I will weigh and go as if I stay to class I'll just sit there crying my eyes out looking pathetic. I've been doing it for 6 years so I know it inside out (and that it worked for me before - 3.5stone in 5months).

Marion - well done for being so brave and admitting the gain - but from what I've learned about you, I know that you will just see it as part of the journey rather than something to dwell on.

Skint_Catt - I'm not sure what to offer as any kind of advice. I think you know the plans pretty much inside out now and also the best ways to try to maximise loss so I won't go through all the drink water, vary choices mantras.......the only thing I can think of is - have you tried Fast Forward? It's a horrible week to go through (I did it once) but may kick start your system a bit?
