I went to SW this time last year and lost just over a stone in 6 months which was really good, but then I just lost motivation and interest so stopped going. I have now put on most of what I have lost and have decided that I am going to restart SW tomorrow without going to the class as out local class has now moved. I think I will go back to doing green days, as I think the EE days will only cause me confusion lol.

After reading abaout Chocolate frosted wheats being so nice on here a few weeks ago I have been unsuccessful at finding any in 4 supermarkets I have tried, my only guess is that they aren't available in Northern Ireland? I know I got fed up last time with eating weetabix minis, so not sure what else I can have.
I also have problems with lunches as I am just not very imaginative!
Would anyone be nice enough to tell me which mugshots are free?

Reading through this thread a few weeks ago and now reading back through the last 5 pages or so I would like to say thanks to everyone on here as you all seem to be so supportive of each other :D

    Hi and Welcome :hello:

Im afraid I cant help you re the frosted wheatbix but maybe we can help with a few more suggestions about brekkie and lunch. Everyone usually posts their daily menu, if im stuck i sometimes pick something of one of them

for brekkie - fry up - quorn sausages, egg, mushrooms, beans (grren day) for red omit the beans and have Morrisons eat smart pork sausages (free) and bacon

    beans on toast

Marions Breakfast yoghurt rice (see previous page for recipe)

    poached eggs on toast

I LOVE Marions syn free pancakes ( separate 2 eggs, whick egg white til stiff, whisk in 2 tsp of splenda, then whisk yolks add 1/2 tsp of vanilla essence fold into egg white, dollops them into a pancake shape in a frying pan with frylite. Turn carefully) I have these in a 5 stack layered with banana.

melon, berries, banana mixed with muller lite.

for lunch I ususlly have either

    left overs form night before
pasta n sauce with beans and jacket potato(green)
3 egg omlette with what evers in the fridge (usually ham, mushrrom and onion)(both days)
pasta salad with cold quorn sausages and egg sliced up (green)
    mugshot, fruit
Jacket potato with Asda reduced fat egg mayo filler (free) (green)

Hope this helps a bit, im sure someone else will be along to give you more ideas.

my lemon meringue pudd didnt turn out very well

I only had one pot of quark so only 250g of quark got used instead of the 300g. I had 2 huge lemons which I used (instead of the 1 mentioned!) and as I have an electric juicer, I added a lot of juice to the quark and lots of zest!

I cooked it in one large dish rather than the small dishes and cooked it for longer than I was meant to.

The egg whites peaked well but Im not sure what was meant by powdered artificial sweetener not granulated? I have a pot of canderel which does say on the side "granular low calorie sweetener" so I guess the wrong kind of sweetener!!!!! The meringue bit did rise well in the oven but as soon as it was taken out, fell flat  and although it appeared perfect was very tasteless and not edible!! The lemon was quite runny and hadnt set despite browning on top (prior to adding the meringue).

total diaster but of course it would have helped if i had used the specified amounts and cooked it as per the recipe! if anyone can offer me any pointers though, would be appreciated!. I did think of making a chocolate version i.e. adding a chocolate options to a pot of quark, cooking it in the oven and then adding the meringue but need to get it right first before I try to vary it!

I made it yesterday flat eric and wasn't impressed - although it did look good!

The whole thing tasted very 'eggy' and I though I maybe needed more sweetener and lemon.

I cooked the whole lot in a ovenware flancase and increased the cookery time, I don't know if I should have done that really, thinking about it as it gets double cooked once the egg white goes on.

2 fried eggs (cooked in frylight)
    2 black coffees
1 tablespoon sweet chilli sauce (15ml) 1.5 syns

    Snack
    glass of diet lemonade
Hi fi bar toffee and pecan bar (HEB)
    2 white coffees

    Tea
Roast beef with SW friendly roasties, lots of veg (carrots, peas, parsnips, turnip, brocoli, cauliflower, butternut squash) gravy (syns) and english mustard (syns)

served with 175 ml of wine (6 syns) (won at the pub quiz last night! :j)

Hmmm not sure on pudding. Dont have any mullerlights in the house , so thinking some frozen fruit (defrosted), greek 0% yogurt and a meringue nest (2.5 syns)

I have had 2 rotten days - My lovely Nan died & after crying most of yesterday i Started stuffing my face with almost anything in sight.

I've not been any better today.

Not one but two cheese twists & a choc eclair for lunch.
I will try & draw a line under it and be better tomorrow, she wouldn't be impressed she was always encouraging me to "Be Good"

It was not unexpected but it did come quicker than anticiapated. Its only 3 1/2 months since we buried grandad.

This has hit me much harder. I am like her in looks & temprament (but not patience- maybe that comes with age)

I just can't imagine my life without her in it.

I'm trying to look at the positives at least she is with grandad & not suffering any more.

Sorry for going on. I feel better for "unloading"

    PS

Flat eric you do not waffle you produce lovely constructive & thought provoking posts

Jo - it doesn't matter what you've eaten - you are grieving, just do what you feel has to be done and then pick up the pieces when you feel stronger....

    ...........on a more frivolous note......

Can Quark be used in a sauce? I need to do a cheese sauce for OH tonight and I don't have any butter. I looked at my saucy secrets book and that has fromage frais - which I don't have, but I do have a tub of quark?? Any thoughts - perhaps too sharp?

There is a carbonara sauce which is quark, cheese, milk and egg, just mixed together. I need to pour it over broccoli and bake - would this still work?

    Thanks for your kind words.

I find as a cheese sauce quark has little taste-but that might just be me!
    Have you got any cornflour?
I just mix a little skim milk to a watery paste & mix it in to boiling milk(about 1/2 pt & use a Heb (strong) cheese & a tiny bit of mustard( i don't like mustard but it improves the cheese flavour)

    Hope it helps

hmm......I know what you mean about the 'taste'.....

I've decided to microwave steam the broccoli and then pop it in a pan with the carbonara sauce ingredients and cook it on the top rather than baking. If I add enough cheese, I'm sure he won't notice the Quark taste ;) He isn't doing SW so I can feed him what I want, although we eat the same now I'm doing EE, but it's the law of sod that the first time we don't eat the same vegetable side dish, I don't have one of the non-friendly SW ingredients!
