Snowing here too but the ground is so wet it's not sticking. Last day of EE tomorrow (have also come off pill) but not holding out any hope (as far as my home scales read) of losing a single lb.
I know what you mean Nic about not feeling as strict with yourself on EE. I've gone over (slightly) my syns once this week and although most days I've not needed to have any syns I just feel as though I haven't 'tried'

Who counts down their sins in a week? Can you still lose weight if you do it that way? I think that'd suit me more than having a few every day as I don't tend to have many syns unless i'm going out for dinner or out for a drink. Would I still lose weight if I had say 30 syns 2 nights a week and 2-3 syns a day otherwise?
    Thanks for any advise.

I sort-of do. I WI on a tuesday, and normally don't spend all my syns on wednesday and Thursday so I can have a few more at the weekend. I don't like using "future" syns IYKWIM as then I do feel really restricted and liable to break the diet. Saving them up makes me appreciate them more I think!

I think its all about what works for you - try it. Some say they don't lose weight that way, others say it works for them - I think as long as you are honest to yourself about how many you have, and as long as having less on the days in between doesn't make you feel deprived, then go for it! :D

Don't forget that if its a one off you could go flexible, although IMO that is fine for one offs but not for if you drink a bottle of wine on a friday night ;)

I went to SW this time last year and lost just over a stone in 6 months which was really good, but then I just lost motivation and interest so stopped going. I have now put on most of what I have lost and have decided that I am going to restart SW tomorrow without going to the class as out local class has now moved. I think I will go back to doing green days, as I think the EE days will only cause me confusion lol.

After reading abaout Chocolate frosted wheats being so nice on here a few weeks ago I have been unsuccessful at finding any in 4 supermarkets I have tried, my only guess is that they aren't available in Northern Ireland? I know I got fed up last time with eating weetabix minis, so not sure what else I can have.
I also have problems with lunches as I am just not very imaginative!
Would anyone be nice enough to tell me which mugshots are free?

Reading through this thread a few weeks ago and now reading back through the last 5 pages or so I would like to say thanks to everyone on here as you all seem to be so supportive of each other :D

NB I pressed something on my pc earlier and now nothing is displaying as it should! so the following text (to me) appears awful. if anyone can tell me what font they are using (or what the standard forum font is) I will try to change it.

Naturally has made a really good point "what works for you".

I dont know what the official stance is on consumption of syns - should you have them each day / save them up for that weekend binge? and many posters on here will have different views.

I know my consultant said to a new member recently who was being good all week i.e. having little or no syns each day and instead saving them for her wine at the weekend that whilst she might be motivated to do that at the moment i.e. have little or no syns each day, six months down the line, how would she be managing then? would she still be motivated to be so restricted each day just so she could have her wine? My consultant wasn't saying what the lady was doing was wrong, just making the point that our syns are there to be used, and to make our SW lives each day that little bit easier.

When I joined (18 months ago), I was told that if I had a night out to flexi syn i.e. set myself a higher syn limit (say 40) and stick with that for my night out. The next day, I can then look in the mirror (having stuck within my 40 syns) and say to myself "I kept in control" rather than "I blew it last night" I might as well have that non friendly HEB bread with dashing of butter and jam, that scone with jam and clotted cream, that mcdonalds, that apple pie and (more) clotted cream!

To be honest I never really bought into that school of thought because typically for me if I have something on (a night out at the local curryhouse say) then my whole week goes pear shaped but thats for another post!

I got what she was saying though.

Recently however our consultant has mentioned that if there is a particular treat you want say that bottle of wine then take that off your weekly syn allowance and divide the syns that are left giving you your new daily syn allowance. I dont know if she means we could do that every week but its just something that she has mentioned as an option open to us.

There will be some members who join SW and who take the motorway route i.e. they are religiously good, follow the plan 100% and are 110% focussed. Others, like me, take the scenic route i.e. getting to where they want to go takes that much longer because they are taking the relaxed approach and do enjoy the odd night (or several!) off plan.

As I have mentioned in other posts, Im not doing SW to be miserable and therefore occasionally I do have what I want which isnt SW friendly.

It might take me much longer to get to my target weight but I am happy with
    that.

I know the SW plan inside out - its my head that I need to get sorted now!

I have had a lot going on recently which has meant that unfortunately SW is falling to the back of the queue but when I do get my head straight, it would be my intention to stick to the plan properly Sunday through Thursday and then relax a bit on Friday and Saturday. I.e. keep my syns low during the week and relax a bit at the weekend. Hopefully it would work out that I would still stick with my syn limit of 84 (allowing 12 a day) perhaps having 5 each day Sunday through Thursday therefore leaving 59 for Friday and Saturday! but I wont be counting religiously!

I do have a tendency to waffle and I apologise for this but Im just trying to explain where Im coming from.

I think you need to ask yourself, how far you have to go and how quickly you want to get there? Then perhaps try a week of being really good during the week and saving your syns for the weekend (or whatever you want your treat to be). then the following week do the opposite, have your syns each day and flexi syn at the weekend. See what works for you (as naturally said) and Ive taken all this waffle to say!
