:hello: More snow here but only 4cm or so, so not snowed in, though half the building haven't made it to work! :( Wish I didn't have to come in :( Roads are awful (country lanes) as they haven't been gritted - didn't get above 15mph all the way here.

Anyway, yesterday was a 100% day (+ zero syns as I just didn't need them) so feel good :)

    Todays menu; (EE week)
    B; Blueberry rice - YUM!
L; Mugshot if I don't get home, pasta, passata with bacon if I do.
D; Beef Lasagne (with possibly some garlic bread - ? syns) and a bit o'salad though OH won't eat the salad.

joey-lou - I'm afraid my class have proved that EE isn't for everyone - some people's bodies just don't react to it and maintain/gain on it, other people lose well. I'm with your 'new' consultant on this based on the results of the people in my class. This is the first time of me doing a week of EE and I really wouldn't be surprised if I don't lose.

    Have a good day all.

    C xx

    Hi skintcatt

I would have listened to her comments but after only following EE for a week I felt she should have been a bit more supportive not choke me off after the first attempt!
I know that some plans work better for some people( green usually works better for me normally) but you have to try new things sometimes.

In the class last night all the newbies who joined after xmas have been following EE & the losses were amazing.
The existing members struggle with it as they miss the extra healthy b

As for me i am torn between the two so i think i am going to try a mix of green & EE ( i am a bread & cereal girl so i have to be more creative on EE)

although marions breakfast rice has been a saviour

    have a great week

  • Okay, I've changed my mind I am going to post a moany groany post.
Yesterday was my Birthday and what a day I had!
I had to go to the hospital for pre-op appointment so bang went 4 hours of my day (including travelling) Then back to work because the worst of the snow was gone. Then Aunty Flo decided to come a visiting so stomach cramps, backache and flooding. I was feeling quite teary too. I got up in the night looked out of the window and lo and behold the rain they had forecast decided not to play ball and had become a thick layer of snow (worse than Mondays, in my opinion). Hubby up at 5 clearing the snow so he could try and get to work. I'm still feeling grotty. Then just to make evrything that bit better hubby just phoned to say out of the three people in his department one of them is to be made redundant and they'll be told by the end of the month. The only remotely positive thing is that I don't have to work because the schools are closed again today.
I'm totally p****d off. Suddenly losing weight doesn't seem too important anymore.

oh lo- sounds horrid....big hugs and hope hubby doesnt lose job
It is possible you are anaemic, and perhaps the change in diet may have just flagged it up, also in my first week I also got headaches and I think this was because I had drastically reduced my fat and sugar intake, it has passed now, but perhaps your body is still adjusting ? Definately get it checked out by a proffesional especially if been present for a while.

thanks TL...i feel crud...unlike LB im stuffing myself with rubbish now.... going for bld test in half hour.
  • Hello again
Well, 1 week in and I'm gutted to say I stayed the same. Re-joined slimming world as I really wanted EE to work for me. I don't have huge amounts to loose, maybe 1.5st, so find it hard finding motivating myself, I end up thinking "Well I'm not bad really, size 12 can't be that bad really" etc etc. Thought the new sw ee plan would be just the job, but not so :(

I've been having muller light with fruit for breakie, milk as HEA in tea through the day, Baked pot and beans or low fat super noodles for lunch with a stack of fruit inc melon through the day. Then home cooked healthy evening meals ie. HM Chilli with SW Chips or Rice, big salads with new pots, Very low fat cottage cheese, etc. Cutting down tremendously on alcohol, sticking to G&T when I do have some and sinning it. As I do all housework and cooking etc, Hubbie has folllowed it without knowing and got on the scales last night to find he'd lost 6lbs!! Gutted doesn't describe it!!

I will admit, as I posted earlier in the week, to a few syns at weekend. I think Skint helped me add them up, had a huge lump of Pate (But no toast!), HM Gravy with meat juices, some Roasts of my MIL that I would think were done in fat washed down with about 5 large glasses of wine. Honestly now, is that enough to stop weight loss?? It was tiny compared to normal and I was soooo carefull not to have bread, sausages, pudding, nothing. Could that really have been the problem??

Or is this what it's all about - me not believing I overdo things and now coming to realise that I do? Please help, a bit fed up, can I trust EE or should I do red + green. What do you think? Problem is I struggle with red days because I have lunch at work and I find chucking some noodles or baked pot in microwave quicker than having to remember to put up a salad, bring tuna, don't forget sweetcorn and cucumber for it etc etc...

    Help!

Sorry to hear you STS :(
Try it for one more week, it may just take a little while for it to show up on the scales. Regardless, it's a good change in diet, and it will have done your body good whether or not you have lost lbs in numbers.
If you don't loose next week, try talking to your consultant and see what (s)he suggests :)

nearly-30 - sorry to hear about your STS even though you've tried so hard. I can't offer too much advice as I'm the same at the mo (can't seem to lose anything) but I have seen in my class that EE only suits about half and a lot of people who've gone back to red/green. I always struggle with red too but how about Mix to Max? Red brekkie, green lunch, red dinner?
  • I'd give it a go for another week too nearly-30! Do you keep a diary of everything you've eaten? It sounds a bit anal, but might help even for a week? If I'm struggling, I start a diary, which lets me see just how many odd wee bits of chocolate or biscuit I have that I've forgotten about or whatever, plus if I have to write it down, it actually makes me think twice before shoving it in my gob!

If after another week it still hasn't worked, then either try swapping to R/G, or like Jemma says, have a quick word with your consultant?

Keep your chin up though, I know it's hard to keep motivated - we're about the same size (If I breathe in I can maybe just fit a 10 :D ), so with my clothes on I can easily justify to myself that actually I'm not fat, and I don't need to lose weight - but it's all the lumps and bumps which only show up in a bikini which I'm trying to shift! ;)

Also sorry just to add in does anyone know a slimming world friendly Tomato Soup recipe that i could make?

    Thanks :)

    Soup

    1 onion
    1 stick celery
    1 carrot

Chop all these and soften in fry light.

Add some chopped garlic, a squirt of tomato puree and a tin (or 2!) of tomatoes.

Add some made up Bovril as stock, and then maybe kidney beans, cooked lentils, chopped coriander, chopped chillies, roasted red peppers. If you buy some of the tiny pasta shapes (soup pasta etc), add them for around 8 minutes.

Cook for 10 minutes, blitz (ladle out some of the kidney beans if you want it chunky and then chuck them back in) and serve!

You can add any vegetables you have lurking in the fridge, just cube and cook them first :T

Free on all plans, free on EE and green if you add kidney beans or baby pasta
