Good morning everyone! We are snowed in - how exciting is that:beer:. I feel all snug and happy, both of my girls are home as the buses have been cancelled and there is no way their cars would get through our little side roads. I am busy planning filling and hearty meals to serve today to keep us all warm in the cold. Won't be able to go to club today so guess I will call this week a STS!

The neighbourhood kids are all out on the front green having snowball fights and making snowmen. I would love to go out and play with them but guess I am getting a little too old for that sort of thing:rotfl::o

We took Charlie out for his toilet walk this morning and it took four of us about 15 minutes to chip all the snow off his fur. I don't know if its because he is such a curly little thing but each curl had its own little frozen snowball, he looked like the Michelen Man when he came in. At the end I just grabbed a hair drier and defrosted him!:rotfl::T:cool:

    Menu for today:

Breakfast - oats so simple and frozen blueberries (heb, hea, free)

Lunch - salmon fillets with leftover rice from last night (free)

Dinner - Cottage pie with carrots, caulifour and brussels, hot rhubarb rice pudding for dessert (all free except 1 syn for the cooked rhubarb)

Thats my lot for now, wrap up warm everyone and if your are capable of it - get out in the snow and play for a while!!

    Love
    Marion

Hi magicbeans, I don't know about the choc essence but recipe I posted just used vanilla and yes I did beat the egg whites till they were quite stiff. Don't know that using choc essence would make any difference though? Mind you I did buy choc essence and tried it with scan bran cakes, did not taste any choc in it at all really:confused:, I was quite disappointed:mad:. I did notice a very slight eggy taste but no more than a normal pancake would? Scan bran cakes, yes I use the whole egg!

I was planning on having scrambled egg on toast, but i came on here and saw Marions post about pancakes. Well I just tried them and they are FABULOUS!!! I had them like a stack with banana in between. They taste very panacakey lol. I expected them to be like sweet omlettes, but they werent. Thanks Marion I now have a new exciting brekkie.

BTW they would be perfect with some sort of syrup, but I didnt have any.

MB I whisked the eggs til stiff, not sure if that was right, but I tried to spread them as thin as possible in the pan. I also let them sit a minute before eating so they 'settled' if you know what I mean. I also had them all stacked up (3 of them) with the banana in between, They were lovely and sweet.yum
