HI made these for tomorrow too
    2 slices wholemeal bread
2 sausages ( morrison ) or even quorn

Take the two slices of bread and flatten with rolling pin
Then spread cheese over the bread
Then roll the bread around the sausages and cut each one into three
spray frylight over them and cook until golden brown , great hot or cold

Which syn free sausages are at morrisons? Do they sell them at ASDA or Tesco or aldi? They are closer for me. Or is it the less than 5% fat ones?

Having not been keen on sauages for ages, i'm dying to have sausage and mash- tried the quorn ones- yuk! Dry as hell.

Good luck with WI this week guys.

Funny you should say that - quorn sausages are my new addiction because of the dryness! I love the texture, I have to oven bake all sausages to oblivion when I eat them, and quorn does this really well hehe.
  • Marion - I just made your syn free pancake - YUM!! - it was demolished rapidly with a bit of assistance from DD and DH  I might try it another time replacing the vanilla essence with some chocolate essence I picked up the other day... could be wonderful you never know ;)

Catt - You have done so well this week, keep it up! Lets hope those scales reflect your hard work :A

Pennylane - a loss of Lb is great, but it is just soooo frustrating isnt it... would it be worth you calling target once you get that 2stone, at least meaning you dont have to pay for a while, attend the RC classes, and then rejoin SC as a target member (ie for free), resetting your target when you are good and ready - at least that way you can miss lots of classes and not have any concerns about back fees etc..

I know I will have left lots of people out - sorry :o - I have been away for the weekend and had a huge catch up to read through...

Food wise this weekend hasn't been perfect, but I have made some good choices along the way. I hope that I will still see a loss this week (however small) but have to expect that it won't be a great week for me... so close to calling target it is annoying, but thats life sometimes..

Friday night I was ready for a takeaway, but we decided instead to try a new chicken curry recipe (which was fine - not as good as others, but tasty and syn free) with rice and green beans - a great EE meal.

Saturday we took DD to Nandos where I chose the chicken and large salad. Lots of diet coke too :p I know the chicken at nandos is not syn free, but it sure makes a better choice than the chips :rotfl:

Saturday night we ate at a friends house, and they didn't know we had been dieting - they were really worried about the food they had prepared (in case it was off our plan) but it was delicious and I had already decided to eat and enjoy.. as it happened it wasn't tooo bad diet wise... prawns served on a tomato 'ice cream' and rocket salad - a rich chicken stew with mash and peas - and ...erm... the most chocolatey chocolate cake I have ever tasted :rotfl: It was totally delicious, but I just couldn't manage a whole slice - I am just not used to food that rich anymore  ..oh, and we drank *alot* ... ho hum, I can snaffle a few syns back over the next few days and the damage shouldn't be too bad.

Today started with a mega hangover, so some scrambled eggs and lean bacon, toast (B) for breakfast, lunch of BNS soup and tonight I am going to braise some leftover roast beef in gravy with mash and carrots and any other veg I can find - an EE day, with no syns (to make up for last night :o ) and back on track for another great week :T :T

I didnt bother with the roast dinner in the end and just had some soup, I blended some cooked carrots and onions and added a little garlic and ginger. It was lush plus there's enough left over for lunch tomorrow :) shame OH didnt think much of it! lol

Tomorrow is going to be an EE day, and I'm really looking forward to it.

B - fried eggs and mushrooms (in frylight of course) and baked beans, plus mid morning a hifi bar
L - Jacket spud with yet more beans (I'll be farting for England!) and salad, plus the left over soup I made this evening
D - Tuna pasta bake with a little grated cheese on top

I dont know what syns I'll be having yet but theres a tin full of shortbread and custard creams in the kitchen which no doubt will be calling to me at some point in the evening!

A strange old weekend for me. I havent really been following SW as its been my anniversary weekend so a meal out last night and a homemade (sw friendly) curry tonight but with all the synful extras thrown in!

It feels like the calm before the storm - almost like Im joining SW and therefore making the most of being able to eat what I want before I commit to the plan 110% after class on Tuesday. Almost like I'm joining class all over again!

To be honest though, I can't wait. almost 18 months on the plan has completely changed how I view and enjoy my food and when picking my choices last night, I couldn't find anything that really took my fancy and ended up picking a steak with all the trimmings. Its funny because previously I would have ordered all the unhealthy extras - garlic bread, extra onion rings but the only extra I wanted was a mixed side salad. Ok, I had the chips (homemade - hard to resist) but I gave lots away. the onion rings on my plate I gave to my OH - you could tell they had been deep fried  and i just didnt fancy them one bit.

The pudding my OH requested for our anniversary meal was a banoffee pie and do I fancy any? nope! Give me a mullerlight vanilla and choc yogurt and a chopped up alpen light!

    Anyway Im waffling ! sorry!

What I wanted to ask is I (think) I know the SW plan inside out but can you offer any suggestions for SW friendly BRAIN food because typically at the weekend or when its my day off, I will have a huge lunch - for example today's lunch was a huge plate of jacket chips - the only trouble is - the rest of the afternoon I feel very sleepy having eaten so much!
so I want to start introducing SW friendly foods into my diet that are both brain/energy friendly :D so would welcome any suggestions.
    MANY THANKS

nb any foods that help lift your mood would be very welcome too :j
  • Thanks! I made these this morning and they tasted so good, just like the real thing! I would have them even if I wasn't on a diet!!

    1 Egg per pancake
2-3 Teaspoons sweetener (depending on own taste)
    3-4 Drops of vanilla essence

First separate the white from the yolk and put into separate bowls, Whisk the egg white until fluffy and add the sweetener, In the other bowl add the vanilla essence then fold the yolk into the egg white
Heat a frying pan with frylight, add the mix and spread as you would a normal pancake after a few mins flip over (But do be careful they are much more delicate than a regular pancake) And then Hey presto scrummy syn free pancakes

Thank you sooo much for this recipe :A . I was just feeling peckish and fancied something sweet so I thought I'd give these a go. I had them with lemon and sweetner and they were absolutely delicious!! And dare I say it even better than normal pancakes!
    Thanks again.
