Any fre food from red or green is unlimited on EE day. Was the !!!!-a-Leekie syn free? Sounds good!
C xx
Yes the soup was syn free and really lovely and tasty. It's a recipe of the sw website and really easy to make.
Dinner was a disaster though as I cooked the chicken in the slow cooker but set it to warm instead of high so the chicken wasn't cooked properly (its in the bin now). Instead I had the potatoes and veg with a small portion of haggis (which is 3.5 syns on red and 4.5 on green but not sure on ee).
Tomorrow will be chilli - again made in the slow cooker but definitely set at the right temperature this time.Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts - DFW Nerd 323

Pease pudding comes in cans with the tinned veg (or in the chiller in some sainsburys) and is cooked down split peas or something like that. Its proper old school food from the days where spreading lard on your chest was good for you - but without the lard! You can use it as a vegetarian alternative when others are having meat, or spread on stuff a bit like hummus. Good hot or cold! and cheap - the full size tin was 30p! Have I convinced anyone yet?!
Ummm I suppose if I thought about what non-sw meals I like I could come up with the answers myself, SC! I want to do more with extra easy, although I don't eat that much meat. I'm craving a proper bacon, sausage, cheese and egg butty on white bread but will obviously have to save some syns for that. Macaroni cheese - I never seem to get a half decent SW version, although if I looked up the syns on the packet of dried sauce I've got in the cuboard it probably isn't that bad. Burger and chips - easy to do, Hmmmmm... :cool:0 -
Haggis will be the lower syn value of the two so 3.5.
My dinner was a disaster too - picked up some Skate wings cheap but after a mouthful each we found it smelled and tasted of amonia - apparantly 'normal' but after I stopped retching it went in the bin so we've had SW chips and peas for dinner! Just having a Hi-Fi and a cuppa to take the taste away!

Hello everyone, i've been reading this fantastic thread for the last week or so and have been wanting to post, but for some reason i've had problems logging in.

But thanks to reading the ideas and support on this thread i had a great week this week and got back on track and at wi last night i had lost a fab 5lbs:j :j :j .
I've tried some of the recepies and love the breakfast rice that retired lady posted.
Thanks again and I'm looking foward to posting (now that i can again) and sharing ideas and inspiration.Grocery Challenge Feb 14 £500 / Spent £572.10!

i'm sure there is a quark version somewhere though.....or the Pasta n Sauce version!
I really want a soft white 10" baguette with chopped up chicken, bacon and sweetcorn in lots of mayo from my old lunch stop shop - but that's a whole lotta syns! :rotfl:0 -

Oooooh, I luuuurve pease puddin', tinned is fine, but I have to admit to loving making it myself - and thanks to your post I have realised I can on EE!!!
The whole thing is I make pease pudding when I boil a ham (gammon), so I boil the ham with celery / carrots /onions etc etc in the water, and suspend a bag of presoaked split peas, cloves, potato etc within the stock... when the ham is done, so is the pease pudding, you mash the pudding, slice the ham, divide up the veg and reduce the stock (for gravy), keeping the rest for a soup the next day...
... its a Jamie Oliver thing if you have the old books...
thanks for reminding me of it - it shall be on the menu next week! hurrah!! :j :j0 -
I'm craving a proper bacon, sausage, cheese and egg butty on white bread but will obviously have to save some syns for that. ...
I actually had something very similar to this the other day... DH looked at it and thought I had stopped doing SW!!;)
although I used wholemeal bread, you could easily use the white bread (is it nimble or weightwatchers??) which is a HB..
I made a fantastic brunch sarnie of:
Tesco rf egg mayo from the chiller cabinet (free)
cooked sliced morrisons sausages (free)
bacon (lean, fat trimmed - free)
and I added sliced tomato, but I can see the cheese fitting in as an A choice.... don't need spread/butter as you have the egg mayo..
... did I mention that it was ZERO SYNS and fantastic for brunch?? :T0
