mirry - yes it would be - but how is 'syrup' free?
  • Afternoon all.
    ..snip..
I went for my WI last night and had put on 1lb. No surprise :(
I'm sure I'm the only person that goes to a slimming club weekly and puts weight ON
My leader (after saying she had a plan for me this week), said she didn't have time to help but would next week. Just my luck the way things are going.
I don't think I can go next week, its my birthday Sunday and I'm going away Friday for the weekend. Don't know what time I'll be home Monday but will weight too much for sure so won't rush to get there.
So it's going to be another 2 wks before she can help me.
At least I'm feeling better finding you all on this support thread.
    LL

I am really feeling for you at the moment, and I am really disappointed in your consultant. If she can't help you in class, then she should make time between classes.

    I have pm'ed you.

I hope that you can have a lovely weekend away - sounds like just what you need

    take care

Lilaclilly - i feel for you too - could you phone your consultant and explain how distressed you are and that you're going away? Maybe she'll come round/invite you over for 15mins just to go through the FF?

I have these syrups that I bought last year , they are big bottles , I have a few different flavours (not all shown here) , they have no calories and no fat and no carbs.

with ref to the cous cous cake.....

My friend goes to class and they always say its free , which is crazy when it tastes so nice .

I make mine using davinci syrup for the toffee flavour in the cous cous cake ,
that way the flavour is free in calories/fat , unlike the muller yogurt.

I have looked up cous cous on a green day and its free , on a red day its 5 syns per 28g .
So on a EE day , would it be free ?

The confusion is simple. It USED to be considered free, and many people are in denial about that not being the case anymore. (including most of the people in my class :rotfl:)

Any food that is used as a flour subsitute is not free and has to be synned (says so in the book under the free food listing). And a cake made with cous cous instead of flour therefore has to be synned - regardless of you being on green or EE.

It is also a misuse of food (like lasagne crisps etc) as you will be eating a far greater quantity than if you were having it as part of a main meal. So again, if you are following SW to the letter it needs to be synned.

All of this said, as an occasional treat, why not. As a daily part of your diet? No.

 Syrup - free of calories and fat??!! I'm intrigued.... please tell us more, this is clearly too good to be true.
