  • Are on offer 4 x 400grm cans for £1 at Asda at the mo. :T

Back from class and have lost another half pound. Need to start writing things down though - as I am fine at mealtimes it is the sneaky snacks that I don't count that are adding up methinks :D

Liz3yy, I'm not giving advice, but are you always thirsty? Or peeing a lot? My OH was diagnosed type 2 diabetic late last year, and once the shock had worn off, it's back to life as normal - he's not on tablets or insulin as its just diet controlled - and strangely enough the SW eating regime is perfect for it! Please don't worry about it - it could just be the time of year - my energy levels sink dramatically when the clocks go back and its dark, then I bounce out of bed in the morning as soon as they go forward!

I take iron tablets (folic acid as I heard lack of can inhibit weight loss) now as my iron does drop occasionally and has almost stopped me donating blood once or twice - I find if I have had a few meals without veggies (i.e. lots of pastas, chillis, curries in a row) then I crave green veg which shows my iron is low.

Howdy! Had my WI tonight and I lost 2.5lbs!! Am dead chuffed - am truly back on the wagon :D
Was reading up above and got loads of tips for yummy treats. My saviour is crackerbread with chocolate spread - MMMMMMMMMM
    Crackerbread (7) = 1HE B
    Chocolate spread (1 Tablespoon) = 4 syns
By gum they taste good! My trick is to open the packet of crackerbreads and leave them in the cupboard for a day or two til they go slightly chewy.....

  • Uses for Quark

Add very low fat fromage frais to quark with some herbs & garlic to make a lovely dip.

Add garlic puree (you don’t need very much) to a tub of quark, mix together and keep in the fridge to add to almost anything! Try dipping slimming world chips into it or use as a topping for jacket potatoes.

Mix with a tin of tuna, chopped spring onion, red pepper and a tsp of paprika for a sandwich filling or jacket potato topping.

Mix salmon with a tub of quark place on a bed of rocket leaves and top with asparagus and black pepper. (Lovely as a starter)

Mix quark with cooked leeks, mushrooms, fat free fromage frais or yoghurt and stir through pasta. It makes a really nice creamy sauce.

Quark is a good alternative to cottage cheese when making quiche, just whisk it into the eggs and pour over the base mixture.

Make a sugar free jelly up as the packet says and set aside to cool (2 sins). Mix a matching flavoured Muller light with a pot of quark. Carefully stir in jelly and allow to set in the fridge over night.

Mix equal parts quark and Mullerlight (any flavour). Add a little sweetener and put into ice cream maker - delicious!

Add sweetener, mix well and use as a free topping on fruit.

Thank you so much for going to the trouble of posting that, there are some fab ideas I am going to try....
