Evening all, I have a problem but wont find out the reason for it until Monday.

I've not been eating well today as I've felt so rough and my eating habits turn to crap when I'm ill. For the past two days I've been incredibly sleepy even after a good nights kip, I'm feeling dopey and struggling to keep my eyes open in the middle of the day and work is really hard, sigh.....

Today I've eaten the following :

    Breakfast -
    Scrambled egg and mushrooms

    Snack -
Mullerlight and hifi bar, two custard creams, slice of birthday cake, handful of minstrels (oh dear....!) and a banana

    Lunch -
    Baked spud and beans

    Dinner -
    Grilled trout, brocolli and carrots

I've just eaten two slices of cheese and another hifi bar as I had the munchies, ooops

My OH thinks I either have anaemia or diabetes (bloody hope not!) but I have to wait until after the weekend to know for sure.

Does anyone have any tips for getting my energy levels back to normal, I cant carry on like this for much longer.

  • Quick Question - What can I do to make Quark a bit more exciting?

I bought myself a tub from Morrisons and I am not too sure what to do with it... Its a bit yacky on its own I think.

I am really enjoying this and I don't feel like I am missing out on anything like you normally do when your on a diet.

Hugs Lizzy xx I hope that Monday gives you some positive answers rather than more worries, but more than anything I hope you can start to feel better...

here are some short term thoughts..

sometimes if I feel lethargic, more carbs just make me super sleepy.. any chance of a red day to naturally reduce your carbs?

personally I think the best thing to combat feeling like this is a little light movement - just what you don't feel like! - but honestly, a short walk, a bit of silly dancing with OH, even three times up and down the stair, might just get you feeling a teeny bit better...

Crumbs so many posts since only yesterday morning when I last logged on!

Evening everyone and a special hello to Judders :D

I have lots to share so please bear with me ;)

    TOTALGREEK 0% YOGURT

If you shop online at Tesco, look out for the little pop up that offers you a free yogurt :D . There is also a link to the Total website where I am delighted to report, there are a selection of yummy recipes including deserts. Of course they all use the greek 0% yogurt (or 2%) but with a couple of odd tweeks here and there, they could be made SW friendly :j

    PRE-COOOKED CHICKEN FROM SUPERMARKETS

Someone mentioned about picking up a Rotisserie Chicken from the local supermarket for a free red meal/extra easy day our consultant said of these chickens that they are injected with oil/fat to help keep them moist/succulent so told us we should syn them but didnt say how! or exactly what fat/oil is used so that we could look it up.

LOCK THE SCALES AWAY AND THROW AWAY THE
    KEY!
A lot of people have posted recently how they have had a sneaky mid week weigh in. I too am guilty of this often weighing myself 5 or 6 times a day
I am however going to take the batteries out and put the scales in the loft.

It can be very enticing to know how we are doing but is at the same time very frustrating because if the scales dont play ball and display what we want to see, we are going to have a mighty strop ! anyone thrown the scales out the window?? :rotfl:

It is important to appreciate that our weight differs daily even hourly depending on when we last went to the loo :rotfl:, what we have eaten, is it our star week, star week due etc? I can sometimes weigh 7 pounds more than what I actually weigh in at class. Unfortunately when we dont see what we want to see, we think that all our hard work is wasted when really we should be sticking with it.

Sorry im waffling but my point is .....

PUT those scales in the bin RIGHT THIS MINUTE :naughty:

    Hi Angie,

Thanks, I need loads of hugs right now!

It's funny you should mention the carbs thing, the last couple of days I've been craving meat terribly and could have murdered a steak or burger this evening but neither of us wanted to go shopping in this awful weather!

The movement thing is interesting too, though you're right in that it's the last thing I want to do right now! I'm even typing this in bed!

Hopefully I'll be a bit brighter at the weekend, following a meat fest!

Fingers crossed the doctor sorts me out on Monday, I've already had some blood tests done as I keep having days of oddness, not good

    Uses for Quark

Add very low fat fromage frais to quark with some herbs & garlic to make a lovely dip.

Add garlic puree (you don’t need very much) to a tub of quark, mix together and keep in the fridge to add to almost anything! Try dipping slimming world chips into it or use as a topping for jacket potatoes.
Mix with a tin of tuna, chopped spring onion, red pepper and a tsp of paprika for a sandwich filling or jacket potato topping.
Mix salmon with a tub of quark place on a bed of rocket leaves and top with asparagus and black pepper. (Lovely as a starter)
Mix quark with cooked leeks, mushrooms, fat free fromage frais or yoghurt and stir through pasta. It makes a really nice creamy sauce.
Quark is a good alternative to cottage cheese when making quiche, just whisk it into the eggs and pour over the base mixture.
Make a sugar free jelly up as the packet says and set aside to cool (2 sins). Mix a matching flavoured Muller light with a pot of quark. Carefully stir in jelly and allow to set in the fridge over night.
Mix equal parts quark and Mullerlight (any flavour). Add a little sweetener and put into ice cream maker - delicious!
Add sweetener, mix well and use as a free topping on fruit.
