WOW that was amazing... i made a quorn chicken curry using some soup as a base. i wasnt sure what to do but after making the soup (onion, butternut squash, sweet potato, carrot, red lentils and a stock cube) i blitzed it til it was smooth but thick, then i fried some muchrooms in frylite, and added curry powder, cumin and garam masala, cooked it through a bit then added quorn pieces, then added the whole lot to the soup. let it cook for 15 mins. I had it with SW chips. It was the best curry ive had on SW. Normally I make a tomato based sauce, but i fancied something sweeter and creamier. It was good value for money as I still have a huge pot of soup to freeze for the kids or make more curry for me and oh next weekend. yum yum, im full and happy

Just back from weigh in - I lost, woo! But a young lass revealed that she'd been having cheese as her HEb on EE and was told that that wasn't allowed.... Now I'm confused! Didn't confess I've been doing this too. Now not sure who to believe...:confused: Is there someone in SW-central you can contact to clarify this as it's really make-or-break for me on the EE plan if I can't have cheese.
Argh it is so annoying when there isn't 1 message - like the new Muller syns.
I really hope it is a HE, because I have to have milk in the evening, and I want cheese on my dinner too :o

om nom nom my dinner was amazing- and had a whopping 8 vegetables in it (9, but we can't count potatoes boo)
Potatoes cooked in olive oil is totally worth the HEb. :D

Well I had this as an email response to my enguiry about the online food diary not having cheese in the HEB for EE plan
    Dear Nicola
    Many thanks for your email.
You certainly can have cheese as a Healthy Extra ‘b’ choice on Extra Easy, and we will be updating the online food diary this week to show this. In the meantime, you could use either the ‘manual’ Free Foods or Syns text box to make a note of any ‘b’ choice of cheese you have until we’ve updated the website.
    I hope this helps

    Warmest regards

Also, the website was today updated with a Q&A about EE which includes the following ...
As cheese is a Healthy Extra ‘b’ choice on Green days only, can it be chosen as the Healthy Extra ‘b’ choice on Extra Easy?

It certainly can, however we recommend a variety of Healthy Extra choices to ensure a good balance of fibre-rich and calcium-rich nutrients.

I googled and found this one, not sure if its the one being referred to though
    Rice Pudding

    Ingredients

1 tub of Vanilla Mullerlite yoghurt
Half a mug of Pudding Rice (short grain rice)
    1 pint of water
    Artificial Sweetener
    1 tbspn Vanilla Essence
    2 tspns ground Nutmeg

    Preparation

Add the pint of water to a saucepan and bring to the boil, lower the heat to simmer and add the rice, simmer for about 20 minutes or until the rice is thoroughly cooked (should be soft, no hard bits).

Lower heat and add in the nutmeg, vanilla essence and mullerlite yoghurt, stir to combine the ingredients. Add in the artificial sweetener to your preferred taste.

    Remove from heat and serve.

    Sin value per serving:

    Green Day - FREE
  • Yay well done on the curry Nic!

Today's menu - bit odd as had planned to go ou for lunch but flipping work was too busy!

    Green day (just about)
    b) muller light & 2 alpen light (B)
    l) HM potato and leek soup
    Snack when starving mid-afternoon - 2 ryvita muesli (6)
Snack when still starving and raiding leftover buffet - the meat & salad from the middle of sandwiches! (B)
    d) rice with lots of herbs etc and red kidney beans, sweetcorn & peas and 2 x cheese on top (A,A)

REEEEALLY want a 2.5lbs loss tomorrow but not sure its going to happen as haven't exercised that much this week and had that big blow out on Friday. Still the right side of 105 syns though, and ate lots of speed foods earlier this week.

    Rice Pudding

    3 - 4oz pudding rice
    1¼ pints skimmed milk (2 Healthy A’s)
5/6 tablespoons of sweetener (or to taste)
    pinch nutmeg and/or cinnamon

Put everything in a slow cooker and stir. Cook on low all day or on High for about 4/5 hours.

Or for a change, try the Pink Pud - it's delicious:-

Pink Pudding (Only 2 syns for the WHOLE LOT)

    2 tubs quark
1 sachet sugar free jelly, preferably raspberry
    ¼ pt boiling water
    1 bag/tub frozen raspberries, defrosted (approx 400g)
    2 tbsp Splenda

Put the Quark and Splenda in a bowl. Make up the jelly with ¼ pt boiling water and add to the quark. Mix well using a stick blender if possible.
Fold in the raspberries with a metal spoon then put into serving bowls and chill until set.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Evening all! I've just got back from a little drive in my first car and loved it! lol

Foodwise today has been good, I felt a bit down this morning but resisted buying chocolate and stuck to my plan to have a green day...

    Breakfast -
    2 x weetabix with mullerlight

    Lunch -
    Baked potato and beans

    Dinner -
Cauliflower cheese with pasta stirred in.

I've snacked on blueberries during the day, plus had a hifi bar and a couple of pieces of shortbread. I also had milk my tea.

Red day tomorrow for a change, I'm looking forward to it!
