    Judds - 20th June!

Babybakey - which veg chilli is that? There is one that used to be free which isn't anymore! (And don't forget to syn milk and butter or anything you put ito the mash - I usually do!)

Rob - your body does get used to the same old foods and then stalls the weight loss so you probably need to shake things up a bit - either try a few red days or go for the 14HEb challenge (never repeating a HEb in 7 days).

Do you mean the jars of carbonara?

pasta n sauces do a carbonara and its very few syns

    or

    Serves 1.

    Ingredients

    t.gif
25g/1oz smoked bacon - cubed (4syns or use a HEB)
    1 portion of dried spaghetti
    1free-range eggs, beaten
    1 free-range egg yolks, beaten
2 tablespoons of fat free fromage frais (or double cream for an extra treat, will need to be syned)
    25g parmesan, grated, (1 HEA)
freshly ground salt and black pepper

    Method
    t.gif
Heat pan and add the bacon and fry until crisp and golden-brown. Remove from the pan with a slotted spoon and set aside onto kitchen towel.

Bring a large pan of salted water to the boil and cook the spaghetti according to packet instructions.

Place the beaten eggs into a large bowl.

Drain the spaghetti, reserving a little of the cooking water.

Add the spaghetti to the eggs and a little of the reserved cooking water and mix well. (The eggs will be cooked by the hot pasta)

Add the fromage frais, parmesan, cooked bacon cubes and stir to combine. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Good luck Angie, I dont envy you, but the general anestetic (sp sorry) always makes me feel drunk, so enjoy that part while it lasts lol.

Retiredlady (Marion) can you tell me whats a Remoska? Is it a slow cooker?

I just bought a 6 litre slow cooker from Asda last night for £25. it looked like a good deal, but when i looked at the instructions and recipes, its not as straight forward as I thought. I didnt think about having to brown meat in a separate pan, and im worried that i dont get the quantity of liquid right. Are they worth it? Im considering taking it back. Ive wanted one for ages thinking of yummy stews. I dont really have spare cash to spend on another gadget i wont use IYKWIM, so any tips would be greeat thanks.
i havent browned th meat every time in mine and it tastes the same. and as for liquid id just say it was trial and error. i made beef bourginon last week with a sauce mix and put the right ammount of water in but this time i have used 1/2 pint instead of 3/4's

I'm sure it will be updated with the next reprint. I can assure you that you can choose any HEB from the main FO book ;)

I was not disbelieving you, however the internet, doesn't tend to get 'reprinted' it tends to be updated quite regularly but you may have missed the fact I said 'online' ;) I use the "Online Food Diary" as my reference as all the Syns/HEA/HEB tend to get updated online a lot quicker the obviously waiting for a paper reprint. I was purely pondering if they will update the internet to reflect this information as I have no drop down option to pick Cheese as a HEB so will need to type is in as a Syn or Free Food which sort of makes the Online Diary a complete waste of time don't you think

Ossieo - how about dropping SW an email directly? Maybe they haven't realised. If no-one tells them, they don't know!

I'm going to try some of the Lemon terrine mousse from the SW mag I put in the fridge last night. A quarter of it is .5 of a syn, I won't be able to eat that much though! Hopefully it has set.

I'll let you know how it tastes.

EDIT: it had set! :T It actually tastes ok - nice and lemony and very light. I've turned it out onto a plate and it is more like 6 decent slices than 4, so it's just under half a syn per serving. I think it would taste realy nice with some passion fruit.
