  • Hi

thought I'd better let you know how I got on... the consultant was really nice at my first meeting, and my personal record thing only shows +/- and not my weight, which makes me feel a lot better!

First week I lost 4lb, I was a bit disappointed as I had "been good" and had 80 syns left! Apparently that was a bad thing though...

I am going to visit a relative who is a bad cook at the weekend - do rennies have a syn value???

    Lost 2 stone 12.5lbs since February 2011. :j
  • Right, I am now on a mission to keep to my healthy eating plan no matter what else is falling apart around me! But I really will have to watch my pennies so tonight I had planned a Chinese night for the whole family which basically consisted of me picking up the phone and calling the local takeaway.
I don't really like chinese but the others do, so I was going to have beef & mushrooms and plain boiled rice which my consultant stated would only be 5.5 syns for the lot on EE plan.
Anyone got any ideas how I can make it at home for hopefully less money?
What is in that gravy / sauce the meat & veg is in?

Thanks to anyone who can help and I hope everyone has a nice day.

It maybe isn't relevent to your specific meal choice, but the Co-Operative have loads of offers on at the moment on oriental food, sauces, chicken and all the extras. Latest leaflets say you can cook a chinese meal for just over £4.00!
The Sharwoods sauces work out OK for sins if you make 3 or 4 meals out of a jar. You can also add to the sauces to make them go further, but the jar will give you your base of flavours to build on.

You can view the leaflets online here!

    Judds - 20th June!

Babybakey - which veg chilli is that? There is one that used to be free which isn't anymore! (And don't forget to syn milk and butter or anything you put ito the mash - I usually do!)

Rob - your body does get used to the same old foods and then stalls the weight loss so you probably need to shake things up a bit - either try a few red days or go for the 14HEb challenge (never repeating a HEb in 7 days).

Im really concerned now as I thought Lean steak mince was free so I was scoffing loads of it last week and last night, and have loads left for lunch on Saturday, but if its 3 syns per 100g Im not so sure I want to eat it, I was looking forward to it too. Ive never noticed the extra lean mince, I bet its more expensesive?
nevermind, today we are being a bit cheeky and having the M&S dine in for £10 meal for tea tonight, so having an EE day

brekkie - shape yoghurt, banana, alpen light bar (1/2 HEB)

Lunch - JP tuna, sweetcorn and fromage frais.(free)

Dinner - SW roast baby potatoe, roast chicken (only frylite, herbs and lemon to baste) mixed roast veg with balsamic dressing, I cant find the syn value of this online, so will go easy on the oil.

Pudding - Eat Well Blueberry &blackberry extremly fruity dessert (6 syns)

snacks, fruit, fruit and more fruit

supper - Alpen lite bar (other 1/2 HEB)

Drinks water, tea using HEA and camomile and spiced apple tea (yum)

syns - pudding and we will share the bottle of wine, so 12 syns +6 for the pud. Im over for today but accounted for that yeasterday.

Not really a huge help as it depends if anyone has the book ( I dont atm) but the website says
"Deliciously sticky without the Syns -find authentic black bean, sweet & sour and chow mein sauce in Saucy Secrets. "
Maybe you can check the class copy when you are there next week (might do that myself actually as I love sweet & sour!) :)

I became a hybrid slimmer this week.

I had to stop slimming world due to having to work evenings in the Autumn.

That class has now closed down and opened up in another venue with a different consultant.

So I have joined Rosemary Conley for the weigh in and the 45 minutes exercise routine. I shall still be doing my SW plan, but for £6.00 a week I get to exercise too.
At this moment in my weight loss journey I feel this is the way for me to go.

I do need the discipline of being weighed but I need to exercise too.

I will let you know how I get on. :)
