welome philsmum! Of course you can join us!

Reb - my last consultant was too busy with three consectutive classes to care, so on Monday I'm stareting with a new consultant who I think only does the one class, so hopefully will be more attentive!

nano - thanks - I remember her. Sounds a good one to start, may consider that to alternate with my wii fit (I'm developing serious knee problems so need to go easy, but still up my activity!)

  • are there any classes between Christmas and New Year for anyone? Just wondering about the official 'launch' of the new plan.

All groups should be running every single week of the year, though around this time you may find they change their night or even the venue, depending on where they're held.

sorry for the writing lol cant help it trying realy hard here haha
i lost the weight fast by eating all day every day lol it was following slimming world so that cant be a cause for a fast regain when i was doing what i was told to do by slimming world.just when i was having 7 and 4 pound losses compared to slow i would get very discouraged thats all i wasnt trying to lose it fast but now because of the diet if i was to have a run of small losses woukld do my head in

Losing 7lbs (or even 4 lbs) every week is very unusual if you follow the plan correctly. Losing too fast often means that you're losing lean muscle tissue which would end up messing with your metabolism making losing weight at all very difficult in the future.

The ideal rate of loss is between 1 and 2 lbs a week, which would mean that you were losing actual fat. The first week or two of any plan is normally when you lose most but that includes a larger percentage of fluid - I have had some members lose as much as a stone in their first week!!

Most successful slimmers settle into a pattern of 1-2lbs a week, which adds up to between just under 4 (or 8 stone at 2 lbs a week) in a year which is an incredible loss whichever way you look at it.

However, to answer your question, you don't have to follow the new plan if you prefer not to. The idea of having several plans is to give you the choice.

  • Good morning everyone and welcome to all the new and returned members:j:T

My name is Marion and I was a long time lurker on this and other forums before I started posting. Funnily enough it was as I was losing weight I got less embarrased about posting:confused:;)
I started slimming world about 3 years ago for the first time. I weighed in at 29 stone and 11 pounds:eek:. You would think that weighing that much I would be a very fast loser but you would be wrong:o I have managed to lose about 7 1/2 stone so far and many times it has been a case of one step forward two steps back :rotfl:, however I have plodded on with it - I think SW calls it taking the scenic route:rotfl:! I certainly have done that!
I recently started posting my daily menu plan on here and a couple other forums. I find it helps me stick to the plan because my day is organised and I know exactly what my meals are going to be and I don't panic eat:o!

The next couple of months I am also going to try and do a storecupboard challenge so I might be coming up with some weird and wonderful concoctions. On the other hand I have so much food in the house I could feed a small army for a month I reckon!

So here is my plan today - (the bits in brackets are what the foods are in slimming world ie free,hea-healthyextra A, heb -healthy extra b or syns)

Breakfast - eggs with gammon fried in frylight plus 2 satsumas (all free)
Lunch - home made leek and potato soup with a wholemeal roll and raspberries and yogurt after (free, heb, free)
Dinner - SW recipe meatloaf with new potatoes, carrots, peas and brussels.(free) with a slice of vienetta after (10 syns)
hea will be milk in coffee

    Have a good day everyone
    Love
    Marion
When life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!
  • If people are posting menu plans (which I think is a great idea by the way - I like Marion find it easier to stick to if it is public - I also think it gives ideas to members who are struggling for menu ideas ;) ) It could be helpful (esp to newer members) to say which plan you are following - especially as there are so many now, Red, Green, M2M, SE and EE!!!

So, in the same spirit, it is weigh in day for me today, and so I always have a 'light' lunch.

    Today I am following EE:

    B yogurt (free)

500ml water during the morning, milk in tea = HA. picking at the grapes in the bowl.

L poached eggs on toast (HB), pear (free)

D grilled gammon, chips and peas (all free). I will have fresh pineapple, DH will have an egg. bottle of alc free lager (still giving my liver a rest - 3 syns), and because it is weigh in day I shall have a small piece of christmas pud ('to use it up') - astronomical syns, but other than this, my day has been :A

Have a great day everyone :D

Afternoon all glad to hear about your good Christmases and great to see all the newbies. :hello:

Im just back from WI and ive gained 4 lbs. Im not suprised as ive eaten and drunk loads over the last week. The problem is, im not in the mindset to get back on plan til at least the 2nd of Jan (after our traditional steak pie on new years day) I also have loads of choccies to eat before then, as I also hate throwing anything away, and have already given away loads.
So my new years resolution will be to get back on plan on the 2nd, to lose the last 12lbs by Valentines day and to go swimming at least once a week, and maybe even go to the gym with my Dad as he got a new membership.

Had my weigh in this morning and I have gained 2 pounds. Tbh I am amazed that it wasnt more but I am glad that I stuck to the plan on the 'normal' days last week! Aiming to get my 2 1/2 stone award by the beginning of Feb which means I need to lose 8lbs - I think it is doable but I am not going to beat myself up if I dont manage it!

Welcome to anyone just starting out.

Going to read my new books to make sure I have understood everything about the super easy plan. Thought I might try it out for a week to see if it works for me. My consultant did say that it was fine to stick to the normal plan if anyone wanted to but thought I would give the new one a try! x x
