Good Luck lo-bush, but remember that 4 stone is one hell of a weight loss, so massive congratulations for that anyway! :T
The mushroom stroganoff - I haven't seen the recipe but does it include quark or low fat fromage frais? I know a lot of low fat dairy products don't freeze well and will seperate.
My EE meal plan for today:apple
L) bacon, quorn sausages and tin of spaghetti
Not too sure about dinner yet, think I'll prob snack on a hi fi bar after WI (I'm soooo nervous about that, I'm desperate for a 4lb loss to be under the next stone barrier!!) but I need to have something light that'll give me energy for exercise class later on. I usually have a tin of spaghetti hoops but have already had one today! Anyone got any bright ideas?
I'll eat a proper dinner after class.
I really need to get my Speed and Super Speed food count up this week, not least because I've got a naughty eating day on Friday with it being my birthday! So I'm trying to eat lots of speed foods this week. I've got plenty of veg in the freezer, so think it'll be weird combination soups and stews between now and then! Other speed food ideas welcome!:rotfl:0 -
Quick query folks
I am on an EE day. Can I eat as much canned tuna (in spring water) as I want or is it limited???
Thanks in advance J x
Yes you can as it is a free food on original. Its also a speed food so tuck in! :T
By the way I've just had a thought, does anyone have a recipe for mushroom pate? Would I be along the right lines if I cooked mushrooms & garlic, mixed with Quark and some herbs...?0 -
I am synning my bacon so have the 2HEB as bread for the toastie and the 2HEA as the cheese. I know the bread is slightly under the 114g allowed but that is what 2 slices weigh. Similarly with the cheese 2 x 28g = 56g.
Ah fair enough, sorry! Just couldn't work out how you got the quantities!0 -
angie_loves_veg wrote: »Cous Cous in a cake cannot be used as a free food, as it is a replacement for flour, you should syn the cous cous. This is a classic 'misuse of free foods' situation.
.. that said, if it is a once in a while occasional treat, then why not enjoy a little on a green day, but if it was used regularly it could affect your weight loss.
sorry
Hiya i had hear this about other recipies but my consultant gave this out at group, and always brings it to group partys too, it is also on the sw site, or it was last time i looked for it.
Im going to ring my consultant now and double check, thanks for pointing it out.

thank you for looking out for me. I could easily have made a boob and after your message went and double-checked. It is so easy to slide into complacency so many thanks for your concern. I'd prefer that to being in the wrong and others seeing it but no-one saying."Every day when I wake up I thank the Lord I'm Welsh" Cerys Matthews0 -
Thats the beauty of posting your meals on here! The first time I did SW (6 years ago ) I was having peas as free on a red day - ok, it wouldn't have stopped me losing weight (probably) but little mistakes add up! Especially those syns that don't count because no-one saw you eat them (my favourites syns!) :rotfl:0

Right update on couscous cake.
My consultant says....
Its fine to have it and only count it as a syn per quarter of cake as long as im not have 4 cakes a day!!! LOL She said if it is used as a treat eg 1 slice a day, no more than 2 full cakes a week there is no need to syn the couscous.
So now im as confused as you lot??? lolProud to be DEBT FREE AT LAST0 -
Yes agreed - Our consultant gave out a recipe for 'Lockshen Bake' a jewish cake made with vermicelli (pasta)... again, a misuse, but like your consultant, says that it is OK if eaten 'sensibly' or on occasion - I think SW set the rule so that you don't spend all day eating these 'treat' foods (one girl in class *did* eat a whole cous cous cake a day, and didn't lose - she was surprised as she thought it was free food.)
These things *used* to be fine on sw - just like corned beef etc... they have simply shanged their policy on a few things to keep us all on the straight and narrow0 -
Hey, I was wondering if someone could tell me how many syns are in beef stock cubes (OXO, or sainsburys own brand) and Knorr Chicken stock cubes? Also jaffa cakes hehe my mum packed me off with a packet and they are looking at me.
I didn't have either HEA or HEB yesterday because I really didn't fancy anything, but wow I'm paying for it today, I am just SO hungry0
