    Chocolate Orange Couscous Cake

Syns per Serving | Green - 1 Syn
    Servings | 4

    Ingredients
    - 4oz couscous
    - 8fl oz boiling water
    - 1tsp baking powder (½ Syn)
    - 2tsp or 1 x 11gm sachet Cadburys Highlights hot chocolate (2 Syns)
    - 2 eggs
    - 2tbsp low calorie granulated sweetener
    - 1 x orange, rind & juice (1 Syn)
    - 1 mandarin Mullerlight yoghurt

    Method
    1. Soak the couscous in the boiling water for 10 minutes.

    2. While the couscous is soaking, whisk all the other ingredients together. Add to the couscous & mix well. Pour into a microwavable flan dish.

    3. Cook in the microwave on full power for 10 minutes.

You can change the flavour just from replacing the mullerlight flavour and the fruit.
So a lemon cake would be the new lemon flavour mullerlight with and lemon instead of an orange.

4 syns for the whole cake!!!

    Hi There
    Very good recipe.
Will have to get the ingredients to make it as soon as. For only 4 syns it has to be worth doing.
I have not made a cake in microwave before. Can this cake be done in the oven?

    Green day -

dinnertime - quorn sausages, bacon, dry-fry egg and actifry chips (syn 1.5 for the olive oil) (will have to weigh the bacon to syn as well)

tea time - melon, grapes and maybe a banana

suppertime - 90g wholemeal bread (HEB) 50g cheddar cheese (HEA) tomato (free) all made into a toastie

Where are you getting your measurements from? normal cheese is 28g per HEa (reduced fat is 42g per HEa) and wholemeal bread is a max of 57g per HEb. You've also had bacon so can't have 2 x bread.

Hi all, I thought I'd give you all an update. Some of you will probably remember me posting way back when I first started SW in April that one of my objectives was to be able to get back into my wedding dress on our Silver Wedding Anniversary. Well with a weightloss so far of just under 4 stone ( It did get to the 4st mark but I had a smallish gain over Christmas) I need to report to you all that tomorrow is the BIG DAY .
I'm reasonably confident(ish) that I'll be able to get it on although I'm pretty sure that I won't be able to do it up :rotfl:. I'm not at target weight yet, although I'm a lot closer now than I was. I'm feeling rather odd about it all actually, for so long it's been a far off, sometime in the future, date and now suddenly it's tomorrow. I'm a little anxious that I'll be very, VERY, disappointed if I can't get it on ( I've been telling all and sundry about trying to get back into my wedding dress!, that'll teach me for having a big mouth) and I'll be left feeling a complete plonker as well as a failure. Yet at the same time I'm, kind of, excited about it because this is what I've been working towards and focussing for all these months. I will report back tomorrow or possibly Thursday ( if I'm busy celebrating) if I've managed to achieve it or not. Wish me luck!

Cous Cous in a cake cannot be used as a free food, as it is a replacement for flour, you should syn the cous cous. This is a classic 'misuse of free foods' situation.

.. that said, if it is a once in a while occasional treat, then why not enjoy a little on a green day, but if it was used regularly it could affect your weight loss.

    sorry :o

Thanks Catt, I've decided I'll wait until the evening to do it so that hubby can be my witness, having said that I'll get him to take photos if I can get it done up as well.
I'd just like to say, I probably wouldn't have had anywhere near as much success if it hadn't been for the 'gang' on here. I don't always have time to post but, as I've said before, if I'm having a wobble, a quick read on here usually puts me back on track. You are all a great support ( Cheesy I know but true)

I am synning my bacon so have the 2HEB as bread for the toastie and the 2HEA as the cheese. I know the bread is slightly under the 114g allowed but that is what 2 slices weigh. Similarly with the cheese 2 x 28g = 56g.
