I wouldn't hold you breath Sally!!!
My saga continues.....No call back within 2 working days after they registered my problems as a complaint....No surprise there then!
Finally managed to get through on the number on the letter I received (seems to be constantly engaged) and a woman told me that if I transferred the money into my NatWest ISA from my HSBC current account (which will take 3 separate transactions on 3 days to complete as I am limited to £10k per day on internet banking) it would get into my ISA OK. I'm still worried that it will get bounced back, as when I look at the NW ISA via online banking it says the max I can invest in it this year is £3.6k. Still, its worth a try. Will let you know how I get on.
Fingers crossed........:rolleyes:What goes around comes around.....I hope!0 -
I SEE A FLYING PIG!
My ISA cheque has cleared my current account!
Complaints dept rang this morning, and will contact me later this week to resolve back dated interest.

Hi,
Unfortunately the promised return phone call today has not materialised. Why am I not surprised? Sally0 -
As sceptical as I am, was surpirised that yesterday morning, just after last post, someone from local branch calls up. Has re-sent my paperwork to central tax unit for them to resend to ING with the "concern" letter attached.
Also promises at end of call to call me back with any developments seeing as this has become a "concern".
Also, confirmed that bonus interest definitely will be given from day of receipt of form to day that money is in account, with the full interest thereafter.
Just need it all to happen now......0 -
the saga continues........
14.1.09: NW lady calls back and says paperwork DEFINITELY sent and ball firmly in ING court and up to me to chase it up. Asked her while on phone to clarify interest issue....on website it says bonus applied from day of receipt of form, can she please confirm this will happen......she says no, only interest from day all money is in account.
I have now raised this particular point as a new "concern" with them.
Can anyone please clarify....what is the stance on interest? My interpretation of the website Common Questions section is that the bonus (1.76% at time of application) is applied from when they get the form, and then the 12 month period starts when they actually have the money. Is this correct?
The actual interest you receive is the 1.76% bonus on any funds already in your ISA from the date your form is received. The interest on funds your transferring in will only be paid from the date the funds are cleared in your account. Also the 1.76% bonus will continue for 12 months from the date of the funds crediting your account so in effect if you have funds already in the account you could get potentially 13 months with the 1.76% bonus.0 -
Does anyone know if Natwest's parent RBS are as bad with crediting former Icesave money (compensation) to their ISA ? I opened one with RBS in October and my egg ISA was transferred in but I have yet to try to transfer in my Icesave compensation - although at the moment I can't do that because the incompetent FSCS can't seem to send me a certificate after having paid my compensation on the 17th of November ! That though is another story entirely !!!"A weak currency arises from a weak economy, which in turn is the result of a weak government" - Gordon Brown 1992 -0

TattyBear, Can you tell me what phone number you used for the complaints department or how you got through to them?
I'm in limbo now - have transferred money from my HSBC current account but it hasn't shown in my NW ISA yet, despite what I was told by a NW lady yesterday.......fingers still firmly crossed!
Thanks.What goes around comes around.....I hope!0 -

Willow, is the Natwest ISA bonus only for 12 months? It's just that I don't recall it being called a one year bonus on the Natwest site.0 -
Yes tattybear it is a 1 year bonus of 1.76% I was going to post a link but as the offer is no longer available for new people to sign upto it has gone from the site - sorry0
