wow thanks for all the replies! and for the record, i certainly did not intend to start a debate on whether people should/shouldn't attend church at Christmas, my thoughts are that everyone should have the right to make their own choices and decisions and believe in whatever faith/religion they wish.but thank you all for sharing your views and what you will be up to. some good ideas there.
have discovered that we need to buy a few bits from the supermarket so think the actual plan for us will be battling with tesco and then probably go to brewsters across the road for tea, then home to watch some christmas films, make reindeer food and light a candle for the people who can't be with us (thanks to whoevers idea that was!)0 -

how sweet!!
we really must do more with our kids....

OP Sorry about getting involved in the religion thing and turning your thread into a debate.
Anyways it is now decided that 2moz we are going to do craft during the day. The at 5 we are going to the christingle service, and taking a walk afterwards. My daughter likes to walk around the estate looking at all the lights.
When we get home we are lighting some candles in the garden, (depending on the weather) this is to remember those no longer with us. Then we are going indoor for hot choc in special mugs, in front of the Polar Express.
After wards it is hot bath and bed for my daughter. I will read the night before christmas to her, then get my dad to jingle some bells down stairs so I can say santa is getting near sleepy time. Wins in 09 = A vodka cocktail kit thing lol, £150 Amazon voucher.0 -
Chaotic day for me tomorrow. First, I'm in work 6-10.30 in ASDA. Then I'll escape the madness and come home. The plan is to get a couple of hours sleep, but with 2 boisterous boys' I'm kinda expecting that not to happen. I'm a chorister at my local church, so I've got a Christingle service at 5 O'Clock, followed by supper at my mother in laws, tthen take the kids home. settle them down, get the pressies ready for the morning, off to Midnight Mass for 11.30. then home to collapse into bed until the small people rise at some ungodly hour. I'm soo grateful we're out Christmas Day, and I don't have to cook dinner !!July Grocery Challenge Budget £160

I'm working and when I've finished work I'm driving for about 3.5 hours to get to family and hoping there's some dinner ready when we get there!! It's worth it though...I think. If I had children there's no way I'd be working but as I don't I'll go in so those with kids can take the day off.
I wish there was more like you Lambanana.
My hubby has to work Chritsmas luckly though Hubby only has to go in 4 days over the 2 weeks holidays so wont be to bad for the children.
Its the likes of you that children can have Daddy at home for Christmas instead of him having to go in......many times I remember my dad having to go to work cause no one else will.......(I know sometimes it can't be helped)
Anyway Thank you from me for being so thoughtful for familys with children

My kids love that site. They check it just before bed for the last time, and he's normally somewhere in Europe, so they have to go to bed cos he's nearly here :jJuly Grocery Challenge Budget £160

Not sure?
Hubby is at work Christmas Eve, I think me and the children will have a lazy day in let the children do what they want (within reason:rolleyes: ) clean the house ready for Father Christmas (note to self must change the boys sheets) Open Christmas ever prezzies of smellies and PJ's bath the children and put their new pjs on (well two youngest the eldest has already worn his no thanks to his nana:mad: lol)
We'll open the tin of roses have a few of those and order our take away which I think this year it is Chinese in time for the boss getting home from work.
Just as I get the youngest to bed will put magic fairy dust out for the reindeers, hang santas key out s he can let him self in, and make him his snack.
Then lock the front door, nobody gets and nobody gets out LOL.
Forgot to add, I'll be preping the veg and have the turkey in, I am going to midnight mass with my mother in law.

Unfortunately we don't have any traditions (other than DS aged 5 helps me prepare the veg).I always cook most of my Xmas dinner on Xmas eve so I don't spend all of Xmas day in the kitchen. I like the idea of going to the cinema then picking up a take-away on the way back.Chilling with pj's, candles, drink and movies on telly.
Think I just talked myself into that one!
Musn't forget Santa's mince pie and carrotJo x:A0
