oh dear! mrcow it is lovely that you go to church, everyone elses evening sound lovely too, please don't ruin a very sweet thread, it is christmas...and whether that means singing songs in a church, rejoicing in the birth of jesus, or settling down with family in the home (or in my TOTALLY heathen way, going to the pub), it is a special time for all of us and we all celebrate in a way that is special to us.
Merry christmas to all of you .

Personally I'm not celebrating the birth of Christ (don't believe in any religion). DD does believe in the whole nativity story and I have explained to her that it is her choice what she wants to believe in. My parents also believe in it too. I'm celebrating a day when I can get together with my whole family, enjoy a nice meal, play a few games, give and receive presents and maybe a couple of glasses of vino. My life is so busy that I welcome chances like this.
My morning will be spent cleaning, at lunchtime we got to Baxters (soup factory) who have a santa and Mrs Clause on a sleigh who are pulled along by reindeer. (I always blub at this point as it seems real:o ) This is them leaving for the hard night ahead. We then track where he is online (thank goodness DD isn't good at geography yet.)
My afternoon will be spent cleaning and then cooking the turkey and making the trifle.
Takeaway for supper, then prob watch National Lampoons xmas vacation before we sprinkle the reindeer dust, put out the mince pies and get ready for santa coming.:j:j little fire cracker born 5th November 2012 :j0 -

Me and my fiance will be taking his dog for a nice walk then chilling out and playing games, watching a movie, maybe even go to the cinema if there is anything good on.
Then in the evening we'll be going to town to see all our friends and back by midnight.
I usually work during christmas so my boss and my assistant can have the time off as they both have kids and I don't yet. Although this year we're all having the whole period off apart from one day when I'm going to pop in for a couple of hours just in case of emergenciesNot been here in years! Hi everyone. Love Xmas Eve as much as Christmas, Will be taking the boys out to the Park in the morning to run some energy off, back home to make their reindeer dust, and some other christmassy bits, Prep veg and everying else that can be prepesd to make my life easier.
Then it will be an afternoon of films and chilling out with the kids.
I too have made them Xmas eve Hampers this year, both with bubble bath, new pjs, soap crayons, Slipper socks, Large Choclate Coin, new tooth brush, toothpaste, a Christmas story for bedtime and a small lego toy (one of the freebies out the paper LOL) Will leave them on there beds while they have tea.
Once the kiddies are bathed and in bed, will have a nice bottle of wine with OH, and when the kids are asleep we will do our MR and MRS Santa bit and sort all the pressies out.
Love the Idea of the Cinema, but my 5 YO will not sit still long enough although I took my eldest (now 8) to the cinema from just 3YO and he sits through them. I think it depend on the kids.:D:D:D:D

I love Xmas Eve too and am really looking forward to it this year. I've also done a Xmas Eve hamper for my boys but I'm going to leave it out for them to find Xmas Eve morning as there are things for them to do during the day. Inside we've got couple xmas books, paint a plate kit, cookie mix in a jar (to make for Santa), carrots (haven't added yet), mugs, snowman soup, fleece blankets, Santa Stop Here door hanger, reindeer food (oats and sugar), torches, 2 x Xmasy DVDs, popcorn, new pjs, name a star certificates, letters from 'Santa', bath stuff...
Happy Christmas Everyone :rudolf::wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
We're going for a long wintery walk in the morning, then the Christingle service in the afternoon, then our best friends and their two children are coming round for a PARTY!!! And we're very excited about all three things. And I think watching 'Carols from Kings' and 'You've been Framed' feature quite highly in the evenings entertainment, too! That's Numberwang!0
