  • The hamper idea sounds similer to the PJ fairy which visits our house she comes while the girls are in the bath and leaves a new pair of pjs warming on the radiator in the hall with a little note telling them to get ready for bed quickly so that santa can visit.
  • I am going to work. Finish at 1.30 then having a few friends round for mince pies and alchohol.

    It's Christmas Eve.

    We'll be going to church.

Sounds like we'll be in a minority though looking at the posts above. Heavens above that we should think to bring religion into Christmas?

  • There may be a Children's Nativity or Christingle Service in a local church, these are usually really good. We will be going to one in our local Cathedral, all the children dress up and donate a present to less fortunate children as they walk down the aisle to the crib. Then we are going to a friends house for tea.
A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.

It looks like I'll be spending christmas eve asleep in bed.

Christmas is about a baby being born and they don't stop being born just because it is christmas so I'll be on nights. I know it sounds awful to some working christmas but the maternity unit is such a special place at christmas.

Hi I go to churh as well, I was thinking of things to do after I have been to church. I do not go to midnight mass though as I do not think I would be up to it.

My little girl knows the true meaning of christmas too.

Surely bringing religion into Christmas doesn't just involve attending church?? Or Religion shouldnt just be at Christmas? Shouldnt it be a personal thing that feels right for each person / family? Midnight mass isn't always suitable for people with young children and not all churches have earlier services. Personally I am not religious although this year will be attending church on christmas eve for the first time at the wish of a relative.

Sorry to sound like I'm picking at what you say but your post sounded very sarcastic. Like I said, religion is a personal thing, just because someone doesn't go to church on Christmas eve, it doesn't mean that they don't have religion it their lives the rest of the year.
