that's what happened to my OH two days before our honeymoon. just cancelled his card and i found his wallet where he swore blind he'd checked 3 times. add into that he had to try and change his branch at the same time cos he'd moved in with me shortly beforehand and he had so much fun.0

I am glad its the sort of error you lot would all make too!!
Its a pain in the you know what tho, going to bank today to see if they will let me have some money out.
Just rang council and applied for 6 moths free council tax for the flat as it is now empty and on the market. It would save me £80 a month which would be great. I am not sur if I have got the discount or ust applied for it as the woman was quite rude and didnt explain it very well even whe I asked her questions.
If I do get the free months I will save the £80 a month for the moment as I am breaking out in night sweats about the flats Home Information Pack. I deferred paying it until the flat sells or November whichever is sooner and now I am terrified that it wont have sold by then and we will have to pay £650  At least I will be back at work by then but even so its a MASSIVE amount of money to find.
Cant believe I have just over a month of maternity leave left and then I will be back to work, boooooooooooooooooooooo! Money will be a little easier then though and I still have 3 Keeping in Touh days to break me in gentle.
Just counted my holiday pot and we have £160 in there which is fab, holiday is second week of Sept so may manage to get a bit more in there by then.
Ive listed a few more bits on Ebay so hope they sell but I have been buying loads on Ebay at the moment. All Christmas presents and havent had to "pay" for any yet as they have all come from the paypal balance. Reckon I have got at least a third of my shopping done so quite chuffed.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm all to report for now so TTFN x xDebt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700:TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T

Gosh you are mega organised. I am thinking about Christmas but with the kids if you go by what they are asking for now it will have changed by Christmas! Still its no excuse for not starting to think about other people's presents. Where are you going on holiday?
I have the week off work commencing 10 August and we are supposed to be going camping with friends but if the weather is poo I am NOT going!! Will cost more in the long run though trying to entertain the kids for a week.
DS2 is off on holiday with the cubs tonight for ten days. He is going to France, Belguim and Holland and doing loads whilst there including Disneyland. It will be so good for him but he is only 9 and I am stressing about it already.
Have a good day all.0 -
Glad you are feeling better pipsmum, and well done you for being so organised about xmas!!!!:T
hope you get the council tax sorted for the flat, although i see no reason for them not to allow you the break! (silly witch or not)
Hope your last month of maternity leave doesnt flew by too quickly, i wish i could afford to be a sahm or work part time....................December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22
Weight loss: 1.5lbs0 -
Hope you are well despite the weather and look forward to an update sometime.0

Helloooooooooooooo!
Yes I have been a bit rubbish at updating havent I, sorry!
The truth is that there is nothing really to update.
Nothing DFW going on as I am now on no pay so just surviving rather than debt busting. Going to work on Monday for another keeping in touch day so that will be a few more pennies in the coffer.
Flat still not sold but friends have said they would ike to rent it if its not sold by the time their lease is up. Thats a bit of a double edged saw as it would mean owning the flat for longer and being able to sell it whn the prices have gone up BUT it would mean that I have to pay out £650 for NOTHING!! I still need to pay for the HIP and it is only valid for 1 year if it is taken off the market. £650 for NOTHING is a lot of money.
Still planning for Christmas and found this adorable site incase anyone wants to make a holiday planner http://melindawhitehead.com/ChristmasNotebook1.html
Ummmmmmmmmmmmmm thats it really, but guess I did have more to waffle on about than I thought!!Debt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700:TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T
