Well done to those of you that are tho! x x

First full day back at work today. Went OK, banging head that wont shift tho. News was not great tho as they are reshuffling department and I may well be forced to do a completely pants job for at least a year as they wouldnt make me redundant and I cant leave else I have to pay back 6 months full mat pay which would be around the £6000 mark .

Flat still wont sell but friends hae said they defo want to rent it which is good really I suppose but means I need to pay out £650 for zero, zilch, nada, niente.

Big depressed Humph from me I am afraid! x x

  • This seems the right place to post it....my kids are 1 and 4 and are my life !
I have spent hundreds if not thousands on days out and "treats" for them. We are utterly skint and have terrible debt due to poor mortgage choices in the boom and this summer could not afford our usual top drawer holiday. On friday we took our kids pond dipping in a little stream int eh country side, had a picnic sat int eh boot of the car (it rained - this is the North East) and had a stroll into the village and had ice creams.....

My 4 year old said it was the best holiday he has EVER had cause we talked and laughed lots!

Opened my eyes! spent so long trying to show them my love in money I kinda forgot to show them my love by flaoting some sticks down a stream with them.....

I think mummies,t here is a moral there!!!

Oh you lot do make me smile, Thanks x x

    Struggling bread winner
    - Welcome and yes you are very correct, mind you that does sound like a lovely little trip so when you do it again can we come!!

Angela - You are also very correct, at least I hae a job. Many are not so lucky.

Mummy - LOOOOONEY!! No its lovely and I am very happy for you. Please see your thread for further ramblings on this subject!!

Well i am feeling a little happier today. Funny how some days you just feel sucky! Headache did not clear at al last night, had a bath, tablets a wine (!) went to bed early but would not shift. Still there today although not as bad.

Job shuffle isnt a definate but think I have shot myself in the foot by returning part time. Basically for those who dont know I am a Learning Facillitator (sounds posher than it is!!) for the Gas Emergency Service. I train and monitor people who receive the fire, explosion and gas escape phone calls. Before Maternity leave there were 10 of us in the team now there is 4, 5 if you include me. That is a BIG drop. Last year we recruited 10 groups of 10 pople, ths year they have recruited ONE group of 10 people so not really a need for a 5th (me) person even if they are part time so it looks like I will be plonked back on the phones for the full shift.

Now this wouldnt be so bad but everything is monitored statistically, you are allowed 12 minutes a day to go to the loo and get drinks, only get 1/2hour lunch break, your average call handling time needs to be 2 mins 30 secs if its not you get a rollicking, you have to speak to some very stressed out people which in turn is very stressful for you, on average you will take around 110 calls a day. Now do you see why I dont really fancy going back to it!!

    Sorry rant over.

Anyway I got a book from the library today. Anthea Turners how to be the perfect housewife. Lets see how far from it I am!!It looks quite a good book in fairness so will report back when I have read it.

    Hugs to all x x

May b a very big long shot, would it be worth looking into Acas website, there may be some useful info.

As for 12 minutes to go to the loo + drinks, r u meant to have the perfect bladder and excuse the expression - lets hope u dont need a no2! x
