Oh my days its been ages hasn't it! Sorry!!!

Yes I am still alive, as are both children although its a wonder how sometimes LOL!!

Pea is 7.5 months now, where did that go???????????????????

Having lots of problems with Pips school allocation for September, didnt get any of our 3 choices and they allocated him a really rubbish school 45 minutes walk away! Have now had to reapply and will hear by end of month if he is into any of those 3 so fingers crossed please x x

Money wise I am plodding on although maternity allowance stops at the end of this month so will be £400 a month down YIKES! Food shop is just ridiculous, even with meal planning and a once a month freezer shop at Farmfoods I CANNOT get it below about £60 a week which is really a lot more than I can afford. Anyone else noticing the same?

Anyway I will try and post more often than my current rate, often think of you all even if I am not posting though.

    TTFN x x x

  • Me and the hubby were only talking about the rise in our food shopping the other day!! Even with a list, buying as cheap as possible and only what we need its higher than it used to be!!!

Good luck with the school thing, my fingers are crossed x

Hey there waves to both, I'm back and mainly due to food prices and trying to manage a budget (and cos I missed you all!)

£60 for a baby, wee man and a big man and yourself is quite close to the bone for the way foods gone up me love. I know that doesnt help but we're struggling too.

    xxxx

Fingers crossed for the school placement. With DD going into sixth year here, starting school seems like only yesterday and a bit surreal!

A thought with the schools have you spoke direct to the headteachers about vacancies, if they realise that your be expected to walk!! 45 mins each way they might have some suggestions,

Agree re the food, even value products going up, - we try to keep to a list, were splitting shopping even further, and adding home bargains into weekly visit rather than an occasional oh whats in there.

When you lose your mat leave will tax credits go up?

Hows pea doing cant believe shes 7.5mths - time flies xxxx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

    Good point there by mum2one.

I had a thought ( I know, me eh) well I now work for the people who deliver love food hate waste here and you've got one in England.

Whilst its lots of stuff we know, meal planning, take lists freezer and fridge rotations, store cupboards, the site is really useful.

    I'll pop the link in.

    http://www.lovefoodhatewaste.com/

I kept a food diary for a week and it was really helpful. The average family (mine not yours) wastes £8-10 a week ( I wasted 10 on a bad week) so if anything in their helps it's all good.

Now I know on here this is like asking grannie to suck eggs but I found it quite helpful for me :-)

The other thing I wondered was a bit if growing some fresh stuff with pips help, I'm sure you do but a small space and a wee chap can make a wee difference too. Let me know if you have an seeds or want any.

    :-)

Hugs lady sorry if all that was useless.

Whoop whoop are you all impressed? Ive made it back twice in 1 week!

LOVELY, LOVELY to see you all still even though I deserted you for a bit!:D

Not useless at all Pippi, whilst I am careful there's always ways to be MORE careful so I will give it a look.

In the nicest possible way, I am glad you are all finding it hard with the food shop too as it means its not just me being useless and it really is very expensive! If I have to get baby milk and nappies you are looking at a £100 spend which is stupid :(

Pip has had another growth spurt and despite being 4 I am having to buy him 6-7 clothes  Just bid on a few bits on Fleabay for him, got some shorts for £2.50 with postage so quite pleased.

Not sure about the tax credits actually Mum2one? I don't think so as I think they class it not as an income IYSWIM so wouldn't take it into account anyway. Will see!

Today was the closing date for the school "late" applications, which ours wasn't but don't get me started!!:mad::mad::mad: so fingers crossed are appreciated!

Zoe is doing well thanks, she has JUST started sleeping from 11pm to 6.30am which is joyous to me!!:rotfl:Thought she was never going to let me sleep again! She is a dinky dot and still in 3-6 months clothes so at least I save some money with her unlike her great lump of a brother!!

    Helloooo!

Well School news is good! We got Pip into a really lovely villlage school, will need to drive him 15 mins each way as its quite away from us but it will sooo be worth it. We went last night to Parents Evening and got given the uniform list.....................YIKEs!!! All has to be with the school badge which sucks a little as I was hoping to get some from Asda but will still get his trousers, shorts and stuff from there.

My only worry with him going to this school is that alot of the children will obviously be from the village itself, its a really posh village so I am worried he will always be seen as "the poor kid" (especially when you read my next news!!)
    What do you all think?

So next news is that yesterday we had a letter from Tax office saying we owe them £6000  as they dont think we were'nt entitled to working tax credit that we had last year, this means our payments this year will only be £85 a month!!!:eek: I don't understand why they think we were not entitled as Chris was working 24 hours or more and our joint income was £27,000 (there was 2 months of my old job before I got made redundant). Have given them accurate figures so I am hoping when they recalcuate there will have been a mix up somewhere.

If not then we will be abit stuffed as my "income" will only be £170 a month, what Chris earns will cover mortgage and utilities but mine will have to cover my debt repayments and ALL of our food :( I guess it is do-able but man will it be hard.
    ANyone got any advice?

Anyhoo got to go and pick up Pip from Nursery, will try and catch up with all your diarys soon x x x

    That is absolutly brilliant news,

I'm sure that schools are meant to offer a choice - keep an eye on Asda sizes as I find the school uniforms tend to be on the small size, - our local store thou big Asda doesn't have a changing room, right farce!! - if you have Tesco I found them to be good uniforms.

My only worry with him going to this school is that alot of the children will obviously be from the village itself, its a really posh village so I am worried he will always be seen as "the poor kid" (especially when you read my next news!!)

Wouldn't worry - kids are kids they don't even notice things, just chuck a football and boys will be boys and happy

That is absolutly disguisting - have you asked for a breakdown of figures, - if you reported any changes, then I'm sure you should be covered - remember that there was a helpguide by Martin - may be worth doing a bit of searching, - would def contact them and see if they can extend the payment term (if u have to pay it back)
