We had it for lunch today with butter :)

You can also freeze it with great success....

Not that I think we'll have any left to freeze ... DH had some for pud with left over cointreau cream and brandy butter (Christmas relics)

We've also had it with custard :)

    Very versatily and scrummy ...

I make the Nigella version with brandy and walnuts, although DD doesn't like walnuts ... apparently ;)h

    Thanks all

I was really pleased becasue it was my first attempt to make it adn i have citiophobia (fear of new foods) but my theory was - i knew what was going in it and that i wasnt allergic to any of them - that said it still took until this morning for me to try some 9baked it yesterday lunch time

I used a basic recipe too
    plain flour
    bicarb of soda
    butter
    sugar
    egg
    bananas

it tastes eally yummy actualyl adn i think it might be my healthy alternative sweet snack now - might try using canderel next time or soemthing. My little boy is sat tuckign into a slice as we speak and ive just had a bit with a cup of tea - thanks all!!!

only prob - i did mine in a round cake tin and its gone pointy in the middle -still yummy though!

Just been given loads of bananas - does anyone have a simple banana bread recipe, so that these bananas don't go to waste?? Thanks
