Hi SA,
I have done most of it -
got the money
cancelled my dmp
set the date - 7th jan
filled in the forms
opened my coop account
and now waiting.......
I am hoping for a nice OR too, I think most of them are, you will get the odd one who is having a bad day probably. I did the forms online and I found it not too bad. I just did a little at a time and kept saving it and going back to it. so it probably took me a couple of months to get them done. it's not the sort of thing to try and rush really.
And Bankrupt Inn here we come! Watch out!
Thanks for your lovely comments SA
I got my coop account card in five days so you should have it really soon. and i asked for a paying book too as you need a slip for paying in at the post office. If you needed a new hoover, then better to buy it now than worry about it afterwards.BSC #215/No.1 Jan 09 Club0 -

Don't spend all the holidays doing the forms, have some fun too.
I had to go earlier as I got my shopping delivered. I tend to get it delivered so that I stick to budget and don't overspend. Did spend a little more this month tho.Spent my dmp money!
Then (and I am not much of a cook) I went and made spaghetti bolognese sauce for the me and the kids dinner, so just have to cook the pasta later, it is not quite the same as the OH's but definitely very edible and looks good. Big test will be if the kids eat it. made it with all the same things the OH uses so it should be essentially the same. :rotfl: Hmmm!BSC #215/No.1 Jan 09 Club0 -
Hi meimei
It is a big relief when you actually decide to go ahead and go for BR but it will soon be over. I think once you actually decide on the date, then it gives you a focus and spurs you on into filling in the forms.
Hope the VAT man is kind to you. Sounds like you and Clanbailey might have some things in common.
welcome to the club.BSC #215/No.1 Jan 09 Club0 -
Hi Clanbailey,
look on this as your fresh start. a chance to start again and start enjoying life a little more.
Everyone on here seems to have had troubles and it is not that BR is the easy option. Often it is the last thing as a last resort when all else has been tried.
I'm sorry you lost your home, am sure that was not a nice experience. But look to the future, you can build things up again gradually starting from the date of your BR onwards.
Your BR is just two days after mine, I will come on and tell you all how I got on (hopefully ok).

Spent my dmp money!
I can't believe how guilty I feel about spending some of what would have been my cc payments on a new vacuum cleaner.....
Enjoy the spag bol - bangers and mash for me. A bit of comfort food!

Hi everyone, here is my update for today....
I went back to work after having taken 3 days off to sort everything out (including my head) and it wasn't so bad.
I have cut my hours right down over the next two weeks both for my sanity and wellbeing and for the possible upcoming IPA. It looks like I will have a surplus in my Jan pay of about £300 but from Feb onwards there will only be about £90 max. I shall have to work on the OR saying I need the Jan surplus to cover the BR fees.....
The thought of getting home at tea time rather than pub chucking out time is wonderful - I might actually get a life now!
My stuff has come for my cashminder account - yippee :T I was worried they might have changed their minds..... lol
If anyone has seen my other thread they will know that I have a Provident doorstep loan and I am worried about the reaction of the collector. She is quite a strong character, shall we say,and has already texted me today asking if I can pay 3 weeks in advance because of Xmas and New Year. What a surprise she has in store!
Got a Christmas stocking prezzie from work of 4 bottles of wine today - that will do for Christmas Day for my sisters to get stuck into! I am so relieved that I have made the decision to file for BR. Life feels so much better!

Nice to hear you are nice and positive and perhaps you could save a bottle of the wine and get the OR sloshed and avoid an IPA:D.
That is a joke I would not advocate bribery in any form;)
Still waiting for my cashminder stuff to arrive but should come next week
Hope the Jan clan have a great weekend
